Cowboy Bebop: The Movie Blu-ray

Cowboy Bebop: The Movie Blu-ray Review

Just saw on a link http://www.mania.com/cowboy-bebop-mo...le_128800.html
Hope we get the extras from the previous dvd release from Sony and more. Maybe not price is low $17.97 since I'm suspecting Image didn't license extras.

This is great - really looking forward to it. Perhaps it's time to re-watch the series.

Then we don't have to worry about that old $60 Japanese version anymore, with the low price on this one. But they kept those dumb quotes?
"Today's Hottest Kind Of Cool".... What is that supposed to even mean?

Oh hell yeah! I've been waiting for an English Friendly release since the Japanese One doesn't have English Subtitles!

I'm also even more stoked that the English Dub is getting a lossless treatment! Not sure what everyone else's opinion is but I think the DUB is one of the better one's I have heard.

As opposed to "the lamest kind of cool" or "the coolest kind of cool"?

I have no idea what the quote means.. the person was trying to be hip.

i usually prefer to watch things in their native language but i was first exposed to the show in its dubbed form and the english voice actors have become the characters in my consciousness. i always watch the show and the movie in english.

It means this was the first Japanese anime title they'd ever heard of.

(Although, as First Anime Titles You've Ever Heard Of, this's one of the better ones--
Give me ultra-cool characters, guns blazing, and a comic-book genre plot, over Sony's Satoshi Kon art-f*rt imports any day. )

You should add "Movie" to the title, you got me a little exciting thinking the entire series might be coming...

The quality unfortunately isn't as good as the Japanese Blu-ray, but for the price it is, it's a good deal, still.

That is, only for those with a Region A (or region free BDP), because it's locked to A-only.

This has to be a mistake. How could they do this when the DVD Remix set was touted with a new DD 5.1? DVD with better audio than Blu? If no one buys it they will fix it.

This disc has "no special features whatsoever" but is currently $9 on amazon. Should I buy this anyway or is FUNimation gonna do this movie justice later on?

I have no idea what Funimation is going to do with it other than rerelease it.

The blu ray has NO extras. None of the great interviews available on the DVD version.

The blu ray release did some violence to the subtitles (if you watch it that way). The altered subtitles, besides fixing one translation mistake changed a couple of lines that not only destroyed a perfectly good joke in one scene but completely altered the meaning of another. I speak enough Japanese to know that they were completely screwed up and there is no reason for it.

Do not waste your money on the blu ray. Stick with the DVD version. It breaks my heart to say it, but the blu ray for region 1 is a waste. One of these days I'll get around to selling mine, it's that awful.
