I won't be surprised if it turns out they're not releasing it after all. They will probably issue a press release denying they even announced it. Halloween 4 deleted scenes, anyone?

Default Mother's Day (1980)

Just got an email from amazon saying they shipped it. Glad it's finally coming out. Not sure what was taking troma so long to get it out, but glad they sent it over to AB to release. Can't wait to which it again and in HD.

I read a review that says Anchor Bay screwed up the transfer for this, too. The PQ rating was poor and it only has lossy Dolby Digital 2.0 audio.

We will see. I'm not to picky. Anything bets the old full frame DVD.

You have a link for that review? Would like to check it out.

Poor for a film like Mother's Day or poor in general? Mother's Day is not going to look good, and I doubt even extensive restoration (which wouldn't happen) like Evil Dead and The Texas Chain Saw Massacre received would do a whole lot for it. Troma probably only had a roughed up print to go by like when they found their print for The Children.

Yeah, it's been confirmed by folks that have the blu-ray that the BD has lossy 2.0 audio and no subtitles. I guess it's just a straight port of the forever delayed Troma BD, but distributed by Anchor Bay (with the AB logo added to the case/disc, of course).

This states it's an all new HD transfer with Dolby True HD 5.1 and extras.

We'll see when It comes in.

That shot of the kitchen table is pretty impressive - I can actually read some of those cereal boxes.

It's hardly a favorite, though now I am kind of curious to see what Eli Roth has to say in its defense...

I;m really glad there is no 5.1 remix as I prefer the original mono.
