It was a fake run of 3 like the Bobby Ewing death in Dallas. Part IV goes back to the sisters of fate and we get a decent script for the continuation.

I thought 3 was ok story wise but it certainly lacked what the other 2 had. It had no direction and the ending was miserable.

I was under the assumption Santa Monica were definitely going to do another franchise after 3?

Meh. Never funishe any of them.

1 was good from what I played. Skipped 2 and went to 3. Great looker, but the corniness was overwhelming. Plus it's very repetitive. I'll beat it. But 4 isn't on my must own list.

I was hoping III would be the end of the trilogy.

But who am I kidding? We all know IV is going to kick major ass.

I'm in the same boat I own the GOW collection and GOW 3, I've played through GOW 1 I loved it then I started 2 but then got into something else and have not played it since, I really need to get back into these cause GOW 1 was great and I'm sure they must just get better

While I prefer God of War 1 over 2 and 3 (mainly for gameplay reasons...1 had the best puzzles) God of War 2 and 3 def had the more epic set-pieces and situations. The opening of God of War 3 is one of the most epic I've ever seen in a game...movie...you name it, it stood out THAT much to me.

When I was playign GoW2 (from the GoW Collection) in HD at 60fps I found that game, originally on PS2, held up really well with current gen games graphically.

im sure God of War IV will rock but i hope they don't run this game into the ground. i remember reading an article where one of the developers of God of War 3 mentioned that, and don't quote me on this, there was more to the ending of God of War 3 and they cut it out because they ran out of time in development, or something like that. he went on to mention that maybe one day it would be released in the form of DLC but nothing ever came of it and ive yet to hear any more about it.

hearing about a God of War IV being in development makes me wonder what that extended ending/missing content was all about.

i hope it's a continuation of the original story....not a "side" deal like the psp games.

I agree. It better be a continuation of the main story.
