Default Sharp - AQUOS 70" LED-LCD HDTV opinions appreciated

Lets just make this an "opinions appreciated" start to better make my decision. I currently have a panny 65" s1 model in my theater. Its dark graphite walls and black cielings. Love the TV, however; there are a couple of areas that i am not comfortable with. 1 The fans are loud at operating temperature and 2) this thing does get hot and heats up the room. Even after a pro-calibration.
I came across this Sharp 70" led-lcd tv for a great deal but have never dwelled in the lcd side of things for a theater room. let me stop here and say that i am not interested in a projector at this time for this room.
I am looking for those that may have some insight on what i would lose and/or gain by making the switch to the sharp for cooler temps and quieter display. The Sharp is fullarray but no dimming feature. is this significant for led/lcd models? It also has wi-fi which would be nice as the panny doesnt even have hardwire or wifi. This theater is only used for blu viewing right now but i have considered adding gaming and sat back into the room. IT just gets so hot in there after about an hour of viewing. Hey guys thanks for looking and responding in advance.

I have had a Sharp LCD for years and I love it. The blacks are rich and clean. Well shot movies just pop off the screen - keep in mind that mine is now a year and a half old. I have never noticed any excessive heat off of ours – it does get warm but never enough to heat the room!

I've never owend a plasma so I am no help in comparing what you would gain or lose in this. I am impressed each time I turn it on my Sharp.

I also have like cetb a Aquos 52" i`am happy with it since my viewing area is very bright , after calibration i was amazed with the quality , to tell you the truth and with the experience on several environments i would take a Panny any given day on a low light room like yours , but this new set is a LED-LCD model that just came out around 2 weeks ago ( LC-70LE732U , 120Hz ) and there are still more models to come with fresh rates of 240Hz and a top of the line with active-shutter 3D capability . 3800$ MRSP i think its a bit too much ( compared with a 60 plasma ) but that its just me , and since its a new model i would wait

If this model performs as well as I read on AVS forum, I would buy it without hesitation when the optical block on my 70" XBR2 gives out.

I came real close to buying the 60" back when we were looking for a new tv for the living room. If it wasn't for BB screwing the pooch, it would probable be sitting up on my bar as we speak. Did a lot of homework and they seem to get very high marks from what I've seen.

Well done deal. I now have a sharp 70 in the theater and a 65 plasma in my family room. I have to move th 55 back to the bedroom at some point. I did resolve the heat issue and the LCD-LED is alot quieter than the plasma. The family room is alot bigger and more open so i will see how it handles the circulation of air and heat build up. will also most likely be dumping the 55 for lcd-led for the bedroom now. IT does take getting used to the softer tones of lcd-led over plasma but it by no means is a bad thing. one plus note to mention that i was thrilled with though. i now do not see myself looking back at myslef in the reflection of the front glass on the plasma. Thats kinda cool but i will wait and give it a couple weeks before i get to happy about the swap out on picture quality.
now back to the theater gotta get my 100 hours in...
HAve a great and blessed easter everyone
