Alot of Paramount titles are not that good for PQ or AQ. Mission impossible 3 is an exception.

I think Shooter and Disturbia are the best PQ of any Paramount release, however I heard Black Snake Moan is pretty good too. I thought all of the MI films were excessively grainy.

I have to agree, I have almost all of Paramount’s films, and most of them are grainy. All of DreamWorks’s films are great.

I have Black Snake Moan and it is a really good Transfer. The First two Mission impossibles were not very good but the third I thought looked great. I have Shooter and that was a good transfer. It seems like they started to get their Sh$t together before they went exclusive.

I love Disturbia from Dreamworks, it looked unreal. Probably my most watched BluRay title.

I thought that both Disturbia and The Shooter looked and sounded good on Blu.

I used to own the MI boxset on HD-DVD and I exchanged it for the blu-ray versions. Quite the mistake. For some reason, their MPEG-2 transfers are obnoxiously grainy. Sahara was like that too. I have Sleepy Hallow and I don't recall how bad it is. Like someone else said, Black Snake Moan looked pretty clean.

It's funny that you mention those particular films, as I believe they were the last three films Paramount released before their defection. Maybe they were just hitting their stride when they gave up, or perhaps they never cared that much to begin with. Yes, the whole situation still bothers me. I took my wife to Hollywood for the beginning of our vacation early in May, and one of the stops we intentionally made was to go to the Paramount gates and visit one of the great movie studios. On the way there we passed a great tower of a building under construction (or maybe they just put up scaffolding) that had a gi-normous ad for Transformers, which had not yet come out. Who knew then what the next few months would hold...

Rattle and Hum was a documentary that was 1/2 shot on 16mm film, then cropped and blown up. The 35mm footage was shot in low light using VERY fast film. It's EXACTLY how it looked in the theaters. Nothing more they could do considering the source.
