Default Fubar II

I see they have the review for this up finally...

Wondering who's seen this and what they thought?

I remember seeing the original one years ago, of course being that it was set and filmed in Calgary, everyone in Calgary I'm sure has seen it at some point.

Then I watched the sequel and thought it was hilarious that it was set in Fort Mac, where I also lived for several years (and worked at the same company) - in fact I really enjoyed seeing a lot of the places from up there.

As for the movie itself I was a bit let down when I saw it. But then I managed to catch it again on TV a few nights ago and liked it much more the second time.

Terry and fricken Deaner!

I see the person who just this reviewed this has absolutely NO idea what this film is meant to be about. See the quote below: (Clearly the reviewer has no idea what the concept is for Fubar and Fubar 2, disappointing review)

"Does it work? The answer will depend on your personal tolerance for expletives, bodily function jokes and mindless behavior. Evidently there's a large and appreciative audience for these elements out there, and there is already talk of a third FUBAR in the offing."

Enjoying the film has nothing to do with enjoying potty humor or foul language. If you get Spinal Tap and/or you went to school with Metallers who had no real academic or career aspirations you will enjoy this film.

I like how the movies have a sweet underlying message. Most people miss that and just focus on the partying parts.

I've seen both FUBARS and think I have a pretty good idea of what they were supposed to be about. That still doesn't mean they work all of the time. Comparing FUBAR (either one) to Spinal Tap is like comparing a tv dinner to a gourmet restaurant (IMHO).

JMK, I am an Irish man living in Canada been here ten years. When Fubar one came out people raved about it in Canada. I did not get it or think it was funny in the slightest as I just arrived in Canada. I re-watched after a couple of years being here and loved it.
Without context it is not funny but there are many people I have met up here who are just like these guys, that is what makes it so good!

And in many ways I prefer it to Spinal Tap, Spinal Tap is awesome but amazingly Fubar is closer to reality which is funny and depressing in many respects.

Anyway each to their own but I think your review is too harsh, I recommend as a rental definitely not a blind buy.
