Mildred Pierce was a five part HBO mini-series based on the novel by James M. Cain and Directed by Todd Haynes. The series stared Kate Winslet, Guy Pearce, and Evan Rachel Wood.

No Release Date yet, or details but Blu-Ray.com has posted the Pre-Order listing and Link for amazon.com.

How dare them, to remake Mildred Pierce! Nobody can emulate the late Joan Crawford.... NOBODY! Joan Crawford's Academy Award Winning Performance in the original: Mildred Pierce is stellar, and inimitable! Kate Winslet, nor any other actress in this world, will never fulfill the late Joan Crawford's shoes.

Has anyone watched the Blu-ray discs from the US collector’s edition recently? I just watched this for the first time via this release that I’ve had around for years, long unopened. Unfortunately, I couldn’t get Part Two, on the first disc, to play through chapter four, and the second disc wouldn’t play at all. I tried a couple of different players. I had to resort to watching parts two, four, and five via the accompanying DVDs. Really liked the series, but it’s a bummer that the Blu-ray discs seem to have corrupted over time.
