I doubt BT would be able to handle the 7.1, and putting it in just for the mic would raise the costs.

The stereo headset's officially releasing September 6th in North America.

The mic doesn't appear to stick out too far if you're not using it.

The extra status icon appears to be for the virtual 7.1 surround sound. Analog slider for volume control.

Wonder if itll work on PC. Amazon has that it does but that description has been removed from the Playstation site. Im in the market for some headphones so these are looking pretty good. Just wish Sony would give out more details.

FYI, if you preorder Modern Warfare 3 from Amazon you get $10 off of the 3 COD headsets coming out with the game that range in price from $99-$299. They are due out in October. http://www.amazon.com/gp/feature.htm...d_i=B005CGL1LE

As for the pre-order price drop, I am not sure that is the price you are going to pay. Amazon guarantees that if the price drops at shipment, you will get that lower price, but since it only dropped briefly and went back up, I don't know if you get to keep the brief drop or not.

The MW3 are little on the expensive side. The $120 model seems to be for PC.

Ya I already have that one as well but I want these for when wifey hogs up my tv and the kids hog up the bedroom tv I can then hook up my ps3 to my 22 inch 1080p monitor and play with sound at my computer desk. My own little play area

Sucks though if they dont work for movie plackback, just in case I ever want to watch a movie which I highly doubt I will but hey it wouldnt hurt.

You may be surprised at how many people are annoyed by most people with headsets like yours because for the vast majority playing war, sports, or other loud games, the game sounds are picked up and echoing over the voice chat channel. Thankful most games come with mute for players with Bluetooth headsets. You want people to stop muting you, you need a setup like these Sony headphones.

The sony mics are pretty good covering up background noise. Its when you get these cheap bluetooth mics that you hear all the feedback noise in the background. Then again I always try to keep my mic on mute if the kids are running a much near me when I'm playing.
