Death Lives Trailer

Overview
Death takes over from War as the lead character in the forthcoming Darksiders 2, publisher THQ has announced.
The sequel's story will run parallel with that of the acclaimed 2010 adventure, and sees Death embark on a quest to redeem his brother – the aforementioned War – and save mankind.
According to THQ's announcement, on his way he'll discover that an ancient grudge may represent an even greater threat to the future of the human race.
Due out some time in 2012 on PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, THQ is promising a "dramatically larger world", weapon and armour upgrade systems, bigger dungeons and a wealth of new enemies and bosses to take down.
"We have taken the best parts of Darksiders and improved on them with a host of new mechanics and features. You will see great things from this epic game," promised THQ core games chief Danny Bilson.

The first one was a great game. I would pick up a part 2.

Agreed. Darksiders was probably the best game released lats year that no one bought. Easily my most (pleasantly) surprising purchase of 2010.

Darksiders 2 announced
Quote:
THQ has today confirmed its plan to release a sequel to the hit post-Apocalyptic action/adventure, Darksiders.
Yes folks, Darksiders 2 is coming, and this time, you'll take on the role of "Death," one of the dread Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, in a weaving adventure that runs parallel to the events of the original game.

"This epic journey propels 'Death' through various light and dark realms as he tries to redeem his brother WAR, the horseman who was blamed for prematurely starting the Apocalypse in Darksider," reads the press release. "Featuring a dramatically larger world, full weapon and armor upgrade systems as well as bigger and more challenging dungeons and vast array of new enemies and bosses, Darksiders II strives to improve on every aspect of the original hit."

Danny Bilson, Executive Vice President of Core Games, commented: “We have taken the best parts of Darksiders and improved on them with a host of new mechanics and features. You will see great things from this epic game.”

Earlier this week, Bilson tweeted that a big reveal about the sequel is coming soon. Darksiders 2 is slated to arrive on the PS3, Xbox 360 and PC in 2012. Expect more info about the game at E3 next week.

I really hope so. And, I hope it's not the original concept for a sequel, with you playing during the events of the first game.

For what its worth, the PS Plus cloud storage let's you copy all saves but it limits you to like once every 24 hours or something like that. I find it to be a good product all around. For 60 a year, I have more games than I could possibly play.

So far IGN seems to be the only review that gives it a less than good score.

So far I am enjoying it and the hope of getting better loot keeps me going for the next thing.

Are possessed weapons explained in the game somewhere? I only knew about them because of the Giant Bomb podcast (maybe it's mentioned in the Quick Look, too), but didn't think about it until I started selling some weapons and I saw that I had a possessed scythe. Started feeding it weapons, but screwed up by, for lack of a better term, wasting a +crit weapon.
Giant Bomb Jeff had mentioned you feed weapons and then it gains those abilities, but after I fed it one and nothing happened, I just started shoving everything into it. Then I saw what he meant when it leveled up and I had to chose between a strength bonus and a crit bonus. Ended up going strength since I had no idea which one would actually add more dps, but knew my strength stat was pretty low. So hopefully that does.
I'm hoping at a certain point I'll be flush with cash and can buy preferred stats from the shoppe.

The only explanation I've seen is when you pick up your first possessed weapon.

I am apparently not very observant. I was probably too busy being angry about that key I keep picking up.

I tried to fast travel out of a dungeon last night but it didn't seem to work. I pressed "A" to switch the map, but it didn't do anything. I assumed it would show the overworld map and then allow me to go somewhere else.

The cloud storage is garbage. Garbage! A paid service that doesn't even auto sync saves is just gross. Copy protected saves? Also garbage.

If neither of those things change before, or heaven forbid after, the next console is released, that'll be in - sane. Insane!
