Ladies and gentlemen, fellow film collectors and stat nuts:

I have just replaced my DVD of Italian Job with its Blu-ray, making the number of Blus I own equal to the number of DVDs at 141 each (282 movies). It's all downhill from here, on my way to 100% high def!

(I don't count TV yet because so few are available.)

So how about you? Do you have as many Blu-ray movies as on DVD? Is your collection over 50% Blu-ray? Tell us your upgrade story!

Not even close for me.

I have like 782 DVD's and currently 141 blu-rays, with 9 more on the way.

Still a little way for me to go.

pawn shops and sales. when you can get 50% of your collection for $6-$8 per.... not nearly so bad. that and I have very few other vices that require money.... don't smoke,drink (very much), go out to dinner or drive expensive cars. amazingly frees up a decent chunk. don't actually spend more than a few hundred a month on blus.

plus, I WAIT for titles to drop 99.9% of the time. I may splurge and spend $20 on an amazing movie like I did with Star Trek 2009, but I normally wait till $10 and under (unless I can do so with disney coupons or they are specially released catalog titles at $10 or less like the BB exclusives this week)

Id say yes. I dont have nearly as much DVDs once i started collecting Blus. i traded in most of them. I think i have more TV series on DVD then actual movies.

Never got in to DVD that much. Had about 40 when I went blu and gave them all away to my friends who weren't upgrading any time soon.

I have 23 DVD's left. 315 Blu-rays.

I had close to 150 DVD's when I got into collecting Blu's.

I only have about 10 DVD`s and the are all concerts , i had about 200 , but since the new formats started to come out i replaced the films that they were worthed to me with HD DVD and BR , never bought any more dvd`s , and the ones that i had i gave to a friend of mine .

No way there are a lot of movies I don't feel the need to upgrade, DVD is still a great format with half decent video and audio quality, that is if the disk has DTS. Plus which I don't have the money to upgrade every DVD I own.

Same Here. The few DVDs I did own, I have upgraded gladly :-)

about a dozen DVDs for me. Over 100 BDs though.

I did a rough count and got about 200 DVDs and close to 500 Blu so 71% Blu.

Sadly,... I have a lot more movies that I love on DVD than I do on Blu.

Jaws, E.T., Indiana Jones, Star Wars, Vertigo, The Unbearable Lightness of Being, .... So many good DVDs but I never watch them anymore.

I guess all the good ones will make it to Blu soon as I could afford them anyways.

Naturally a lot of my Blu Rays were re buys of DVDs I already had.

With James Bond I am exactly 50%. I have 11 blus and there are 22 movies. (I have Never Say Never though but it's not part of the actual or official series.)

Never really collected DVDs so I don't have any except Swingers on DVD. My movie collection is all bluray.

100% Blu! I had maybe 20 DVD's from before I got into Blu-ray about a year and a half ago, but I've since either traded them in or given them to my brothers.

Plus which I don't have the money to upgrade every DVD I own.
