Has anyone tried any of the 5.1 headsets on the market? I am tired of my wife yelling from the bedroom the TV is to loud.

They seem to be all effect - with no LFE of course. They'd need to do something like place or tiny transducers in each ear piece... a dual front, separate right and left sides or rears and for 6., a common rear like the front. I've only heard a couple from China and wasn't impressed at all. The biggest factor is trying to give you some bass as well. I gave up and just bought a pair of Stereo AKG's that give great bass.
See, the biggest issue really, is that headphone jacks in receivers are just stereo so anyone trying to fake surround is doing just that... faking it. |

The only one even worth considering for true surround.
http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/pn...0338%2C00.html Not cheap, but it can be found for $300. |

Take a look at this one:
http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage....=1149206405379 Excellent Sony design for $229.99 and it's wireless as well. It has both Dolby and DTS decoders built in. Last edited by gvortex7; 09-21-2007 at 03:55 AM. |

Maybe you should invest in earplugs for your wife instead. ![]() or sound proof doors and walls. |

I have the Sony Headsets with Dolby Digital 5.1 and Dts and they are fantastic. I have had them for about two years now. I watch movies in bed late at night next to my wife who goes to bed early and these sound great. I actually was just watching TROY on BluRay with them and they sounded great. I have them hooked up on the Optical out on my Sony BDP-S300.
