Default Amp or Woofer?

We have often talked about how good subs are with the audio quality and how low they can go.

I was wondering besides the box, is it the amp or the woofer that is responsible for subs audio quality and how low they go?

I’m sure both together makes a difference, but which is more responsible, the amp or the woofer?

Both are important but the box size and speaker are more important. You can get more bass from 300 watts in a big box and a good driver then a 2500 watt amp with a small box and good driver. As far as the sound quality all 3 are important for sure but overall the driver has to be able to perform or nothing matters.

Right on the money Reference_head, an excellent explanation. You use the driver T/S parameters to calculate the volume of the enclosure and the power to drive it to get to your desired result in Hz.
