Default Price of new Sony Blu-Ray releases equals to DVD

I just pre-ordered the Spiderman Trilogy Blu-Ray at the Mediamarkt in The Netherlands. At first, they couldn't find it in their systems so they immediately phoned Sony Home Entertainment Netherlands. They told me it would be released on 11 October and the biggest surprise: it would cost 25 euro , just as the DVD box. Of course, I asked if they were sure, that they hadn't mixed it up with the DVD box or that they were only talking about Spiderman 3. But no, they said it was really the Blu-Ray box. And what's more, Sony just told them that from now on their new Blu-Ray releases would cost the same as the DVD releases . I really really hope this is true, as that would be a huge benefit to the Blu-Ray format. I will keep my fingers crossed and see what I will have to pay on 11 October.

that would definitely be a nice change to see! (and hopefully worldwide!) way to go Sony!

Keep us updated on this. If it turns out to be true it will be great for European Blu-ray owners. And it would really be great news for me in this would be the case in the US market also. But I'll believe it when it happens.

Of course I will. I really hope it is true, but there is of course that sceptical part of me that thinks "I will it when I see it".

I hope that kind of trend flows into the US market as well.
