Default Evil Dead 2 (Lionsgate) - November 15, 2011- Review up

Evil Dead II: Dead by Dawn Blu-ray

Evil Dead II: Dead by Dawn Blu-ray Review

From Deadites.net, it has been confirmed that Bruce Campbell recorded a new commentary/interview for an upcoming new Lionsgate Evil Dead 2 25th anniversary BD !!!
If they fully restored the movie and got rid of all the cables/wires you can see on screen, well this is a #1 buy for me.

No thanks, would rather it was a new scan with no DNR

Cool. This is the only one of the three ED movies that I ain't got in HD, and a properly remastered version would be much appreciated.

First thing that popped into my head when I read the title of the thread:

[Show spoiler]

I've seen the trilogy soooo many times that I no longer upgrade when new releases come out. I mean, I've seen them all so much, I just can't justify buying more versions/releases, because I'd likely never do more than unwrap them.. I never just "pop them in" to watch at all anymore....in fact, the Evil Dead series now does something to me that I never thought it would do....
[Show spoiler]it bores me to death. Never, ever thought I'd say that.

Yeah, that would be nice. I'll have to read reviews before I get this, because it's possible that they just use the transfer from the previous release and throw some extras in.

Fine by me, I'm in no hurry. I just want them to do it right. With new features and a remaster, I think it will look great!

Well, I only have the first one on BD, so I'm up for this. Haven't updated EDII since the THX limited edition DVD from, what, over 10 years ago?

Hopefully Sam Raimi got involved and it'll look as phenomenal as Evil Dead 1. It's downright embarrassing that the 16mm amateur production is the best-looking of the three.

I hear yah. I'm that way with the Alien franchise. I upgrade each and every time, but I have seen Alien and Aliens sooooooooo many times (especially Aliens) that I almost never watch them anymore, even though they are two of my all-time favorites.

I've simply done them to death.

*SIGH* Okay, I'll bite... again!

As long as it's a new and improved looking transfer. I finally succumbed to the pressure and picked this up last October along with my purchase of the Evil Dead Limited Edition.

Instead of constant re-releases, just bring the whole damned trilogy into one definite set with all extras and remastered transfers!
