Finally got the new Sony Bravia XBR HX929.
The problem is, there are two new options to select when using motion flow: Clear and Clear Plus. I can't find the difference btw them anywhere. Please help me? Last edited by blu lover; 07-22-2011 at 10:09 AM. |

Two of those presets, Clear and Clear Plus, use backlight scanning for maximum motion resolution. The other two, Standard and Smooth, do not, and come in at around 900 lines. As usual we couldn't tell the difference in normal program material between any of these settings, including Off. Read more: http://reviews.cnet.com/flat-panel-t...#ixzz1Sr8mmAPg I think this answers your question. Congrats on your new tv by the way, looks awesome. |

Just bought a Sony XBR-55HX929 on Saturday. Will be delivered this coming Friday. I had to jump on the buy cause I got the TV for $2799.99 plus tax. I had talked to a Home Theater dealer whose cost on the TV is $2499.99 and they were going to sell it to me for $3149.99. I thought I got a good deal.
As far as my research goes this TV is the best LED on the market right now. I know Sharp has their Elite 70" but that's a $8000 TV... Anyway, moving the end of the month will have my Sony XBR-55HX929 hooked up to PS3 120gb and Yamaha 5100 sound bar. Sweet setup can't wait! |

I am thinking about buying the Sony 46HX929. I am actually sold on the product when I got to play around with it at a Sony Store. However, I have made a thread here and another forum whether i should get this or a Panasonic plasma and the Panasonic is winning easily.
How did ya'll know the Sony HX929 is the product for you. I get easily discouraged but at the same time, I think now, that all these issues and problems that complain about on these forums and others like highdefjunkies and avsforums are just the minority out of the whole world buying these products. |

I've been debating between the Sony HX929 and the Panny VT30 for quite some time. But in store visits, even though I'm personally inclined to prefer a Plasma, it looks like I'm going for the Sony. It surprises me, but I like the picture better and it seems to also have very good blacks in spite of the fact that it's not plasma. The plasmas are reputed to both buzz and generate more heat and the combination of all those factors is driving me towards the Sony.
The reported problems with these sets do bother me. But I've never seen any of these problems in a retail environment. I've been to five different stores and I've never seen the 'crease' in the Sony that many complain about. And likewise, I've never seen fluctuating black levels in the Panny, although I did see a YouTube video that demonstrated it. J&R in NYC is currently selling the 55HX929 for only $2400, but they don't have any in stock (although they are accepting orders). They have no expected date. They're also selling the Panny 55VT30 for an incredible $1800. Up until about two weeks ago, it was still $2800. They're an authorized dealer for both brands and they're usually not the biggest price discounter, so I'm a little surprised, but hey. I think large screen sales have been slow and Sony and Panasonic are providing dealer incentives to get rid of inventory. (But if that's the case, then why has J&R been out of stock on the HX929 for so long?). But I think that both these sets are incredible bargains at that price level. I wouldn't have expected these prices until the newer models are announced at CES in January of 2012. |

My new Vizio has two settings... Smooth Motion, and Real Cinema. Smooth Motion produces no video artifacts and really only seems to smooth out the transition from one frame to the next, but the content itself is unaltered. Real Cinema is clearly the Interpolation setting. When it is enabled you get the "soap opera" or "video" effect, and some light artifacts in the background images. Start watching a BluRay and try "Clear" by itself... then enable "Clear Plus" to see if there is a difference... If my theory is correct, the difference should be very obvious... |
