Executive Decision Blu-ray Review

Surprised nobody has mentioned this yet--but I saw Executive Decision sitting on the shelf at Best Buy today for $14.99, and the sticker on the front said it was an exclusive. I couldn't find any other titles that might be included in addition to ED. Also, Best Buy Canada shows that it's supposed to come out 8/16, so I'm guessing my BB broke street date (I'm in Ohio, by the way). That's also assuming the release date is the same for the US and Canada.

That's even more strange. How come there's no information about this title, or any other titles that might've been included as exclusives?

I saw it was being released in Canada and even mentioned it on the Executive Decision "official" thread. Great news!! I'll be heading there first thing tomorrow!

Goddammit! If I had only known that it had come out on 7/26 I would have used the $5 off coupon on it. Will definitely be picking it up when it goes on sale, or I get a RZ coupon, whatever happens first.

My thoughts exactly. Went to me store(MD) and they didn't have any. Oh well, at least I know it's finally out in the US. I can wait for it show up at my local BB, or get it on Amazon.

damn!!! I would totally have snagged that for $10 with coupon if I'd have known!! I was there getting Dante's Peak that day anyways

I didn't notice/pay attention to the extras, but I can confirm it didn't have a slip. Also, I did see a little blurb at the bottom by the R rating, something about the 133 minute BD version having different material than the regular 133 minute R rated version. Maybe a scene has been edited or something?

Hmmm one of the DVD releases of this was paired with another Kurt Russell flick called Unlawful Entry, that would be cool if it was also released on blu......

Well at approximately 10:38 when the suicide bomber enters the restaurant the shots where you can see the bomber holding the ?book/bible? in his hand are eliminated.

That's all I have seen so far. I am playing the Blu-ray on my main system and the DVD on my laptop.

I guess I'll be keeping my DVD.

This is the one with Seagal and Russell right? Me and my Mom still joke to this day about how we thought it was a Steven Seagal movie and he died right in the start of the movie LOL. I thought he was gonna come back the whole time looking and waiting to see him return. It was really funny, but it also turned out to be a great movie.

Another slight change spotted. At approximately 1:04:50 when Halle Berry is covering for Kurt Russell in the elevator, when Nagi Hassan says "Just be patient it will all be over very soon." he is no longer shown placing his hand on the book/bible that was in his jacket pocket. Also seconds later the shot of him slightly opening the book/bible and rifling his fingers through it is gone.

I'm also betting that the shot of him praying later in the movie will be gone.

I'll let you know.
