Default Worse change to the Star Wars OT

Just a warning to fans who prefer the altered verions of the original trilogy. This thread is mainly for people who don't like certain aspects of the altered films.

Ok so I see a lot of heated discussion in the Star Wars Blu-Ray thread about issues with the altered versions of the original trilogy. So I decided to make a thread to see what everyone thought was the most offensive change.

Mine would have to be adding Hayden to the end of Jedi. While I disagree with almost all of the changes George made, this has to be the most offensive to me. It completely ruins the end of the trilogy for me.

I personally hate the addition of jaba in A New Hope.

To me, he’s more menacing when u finally see him in Jedi after he’s been mentioned in the previous 2 movies. Making him walk was just ridiculous as well.

I also hate the singer being added into Return of the Jedi in Jaba’s palace.

Those are the 2 worst additions for me.

I completly agree! He seems almost like a joke when they added him to ANH. I mean having the most dangerous mobster in the galaxy let you step on his tail is ridiculous!

Having Greedo shoot first not only makes for a garish visual effect but, more importantly, it, in an instant, renders Han Solo's entire character arc almost totally inert.

Sorry I know it is so hard! I wish now that I had created an option for more than one. I just wanted to see which change people hated the most even if they disliked them all. (which I do) If there is more than one feel free to comment on which ones bother you and why.

LOL

Yea, same here.

I would just go with the whole color-timing, crushed blacks and soundtrack screw ups.

Ok so I am guessing your one of those people who prefer the altered versions. Well thats fine, but there is no need to be sarcastic. I just made this thread for the people who don't like the changes to have a proper place to vent.

Amen. That is the worst. But one not listed that really bothers me is changing the explosion of the Death Star into multi-color and smoke when the orginal rendering was so much more elegant.

I am sorry, I just couldn't mention all of the cgi changes like the sarlac pit, cloud city etc there was just so many! So I lumped all of those changes under the cgi section.

Greedo Shooting First - you might of well give Han a walkie-talkie. The Vader No ranks right up there as well as silence is more powerful in that moment.

Greedo shooting first defintely, it makes my stomach turn.
Then the Jedi Rocks musical scene, it could have probably been done tastefully but they went over the top & ruined it.

It's not on the list but I'd have to go with Obi-Wan's Krayt Dragon call being changed again. They changed it before and it did sound better (because it sounded to much like a Bantha) but now it just sounds horrible! It starts off okay and then it just sounds like a cat being strangled by a goat who is being strangled by another cat! I don't mind any of the other changes

The Hayden/Sebastian replacement actually now didn't bother me (I voted this prior to owning the set), I watched it on Blu last night. It was Tem Morrison's voice over of Bobba Fett that irked me the most. The silent assassin morphed to a loose linguistic. The "Kiwi" inflection, which I'd recognize through and through seemed jarring or at odds with my memory of the scenes.

High Definition I reckon makes the CGI enhancements seem more natural. 9 disc set is great value

It's close between Jabba, Greedo and the no in ROTJ. The jabba scene is the worse, imo. It's just awful.
