Default Anchor Bay Vs. Image Entertainment of Hellraiser & Children of the Corn etc.

I was wondering which has the better release of the two films because I have the double pack from Anchor Bay and I was thinking of selling that one for the image blu-ray

Disappointed.

No extras like the Starz/Anchor Bay cubebox HR Blu Ray release.

Hellraiser looks kind of blurry and has a few sets of weird blue spots appear at the very opening after Frank walks away with the box and right before it cuts to him sitting down when he first opens it.

My Starz/Ancor Bay version does not have that defect and is much clearer as a Blu Ray should be.

Hellraiser 2 is a noisy (even the New World logo at the beginning has a few HUGE black lines on the right side, which should have been cleaned up), no extras, and frankly looks like a regular DVD.

A waste.

According to this review, the Anchor Bay version of Hellraiser is much better. Also, it has Extras.
As far as I know, the Image Re-Releases of the film has no extras. Not sure of Children of the Corn.

If you can, get the Anchor Bay releases which may now be out of print.

For those that are looking for this I picked up this double feature, the one with the superior transfers and extras, at F.Y.E. The other day. It was brand new and was marked $6.99, but was in the 40% off section. So I ended up paying a little over $4 for it. Hope this helps anyone.

Anchor Bay, no contest.

The Anchor Bay blu-rays are crammed with extras, while the Image blu-rays are completely barebones. Also, based on the reviews here, the Anchor Bay versions also have superior picture quality (although the reviews do say there isn't a huge difference). Heathers is in the same boat.

Glad I grabbed the Anchor Bay discs before Image got ahold of them.
