13th Warrior to be released in North America? - Blu-ray Forum

Just wondering, as there is a German release of this. I would love to get my hands on a N.A. copy of this film.

No word yet. The German version is region free, but it has forced German subtitles.

yeah it does. It sucks. But the release isn't to bad. There is definitely an improvement over the DVD. I would rate it 3.5 in PQ.
Could have been a better transfer

Probably forced subtitles like the German version. Burned in subtitles are part of the actual print like Downfall.

I always loved this one too. Book and film. People were so hard on it at the time, but look at the likes of Conan nowadays! I think a release of this would be great and hopefully the film can be given another chance - provide echo bridge don't get their paws on it and totally mess up the transfer!

Can't wait to get this one. Got it on DVD but will upgrade. One of my favourite Crichton flicks. And as a bonus, it was filmed near my hometown on Vancouver Island.

This is one of my all-time faves. I guess I'm kind of a weird cinephile because I love movies and have a large collection, but I almost never dive into the extra content, backstories, etc. I just really, really appreciate the art of a perfect film. That being said, I'm aware of all the drama behind 13th Warrior with McTiernan and everything, and how it ultimately ruined his life. A couple years back I wrote an impassioned letter to Disney to release it in North America, but I never heard anything back. There must be a way for us to get this ultimate motion picture in North America! Maybe a 4k edition...?

If you've never read the novel that its based on (Eaters of the Dead) I highly recommend it.
