Question Will Airport ever take off on Blu-Ray?

Been wondering if Universal will release their Airport movies to Blu-Ray. At the very least the original Airport (1970) would be most welcome. Filmed in Todd-AO 70mm with an impressive cast to boot it would seem like a sure winner for Blu. Anyone else interested in adding these movies to their Blu-Ray collection?

I guess my question is answered. No interest whatsoever.

Just got home from work, so I am now just seeing your post! And yes, my friend, this is WAY near the top of my wish list! I can only hope they go back and remaster from the Todd AO negative (or whatever the heck they do?!?) "Airport" made billions for Universal, so come on and give us this disaster classic! All I need then is "The Poseidon Adventure" (Next year,?! 40th anniversary) and I have "The Towering Inferno" for the BIG three disaster films! Sorry, no go on "Earthquake" although I did see this at the movies in 1974 about 6 times . . . JUST for the Sennserround (sp) effects! But still, not a really good movie . . . watched it a little while back and . . yep . . . STILL bad!

Thankyou. At least I now know I am not the only Airport fan out there. Just the original would be enough for the likes of me. Universal could gauge the interest at least before releasing more of the series.

I too love Airport and hope to see it eventually released...a great film that kicked of the disaster genre...This movie would be great if Universal would give it the grand treatment, but I doubt that they ever will...which is a complete shame as, like the former reply stated, this film made a fortune for Universal and usually gets treated now like a bastard stepchild...very sad...Let's hope and pray for an eventual release of this in HD...as well as The Poseidon Adventure (which I've heard rumors is being prepped for next year but nothing certain) I'm keeping my fingers crossed!

I'd buy it as it was filmed at the airport I work out of so, so to own a piece of quasi local aviation history filmed on 70mm Todd-AO no less. Yeah sign me up.

I'll buy "Airport" on BD. I'd buy the 1975 version on BD too.

Yes, I'd love a box set of these. I have the first film on Blu which is the best, but all of them are entertaining, despite the gradual decline in quality.

Why don't they just make a boxset of all four films?
