Default Sony BDP-S580: Beautiful Picture But NO SOUND!!!

I hooked up my BDP-S580 to my Yamaha RX-V667 receiver via 1.4 HDMI cables.
The receiver is hooked up to my Sony KDL60NX720 3D LED HDTV via 1.4 HDMI cable.
Did the firmware updates for both the tv and the blu-ray player.
After set up I popped a BD into the player and hit play.
Beautiful picture but NO SOUND!!!
So I went back and unplugged all the cables and then plugged them back in.
Then I turned everything off in my HT system and then turned everything back on (reboot) and still NO SOUND!!!
What am I doing wrong?

Ok I went to the HDMI: Audio Output menu.
Clicked on "Amp" and it said "Not Available."
Then I clicked on "Out" and it said "Not Available."

WTF!?!?

do you have some form of HDMI Control enabled?

pg.90 manual

Quote:
HDMI Control = Off
ARC = Off

I miss the days when all you had to do was connect your speakers and other equippment to your new receiver, plug it in and press ON.

Now you have to have a degree in electrical engineering from MIT just to figure out how to get sound out of the freaking thing!
