Default Favorite Paul Verhoeven Films

Paul Verhoeven may be my favorite all time director. His balance of Social Commentary/Parody and violence while also telling unique and interesting stories has always struck a chord with me. I just wanted to see how many other Verhoeven fans are out there and for those fans to rank their favorite Verhoeven films.

My List

1. Starship Troopers
2. Robocop
3. Total Recall
4. Flesh+Blood
5. Basic Instinct

I still have not seen Hollow Man or some of his older films but I think this is a pretty solid list by itself. So what are your favorite Verhoeven films?

As long as starship troopers is number one the rest don't matter. That movie is so damned good.

Plus it was one of the first movies with so much CGI creature work in daylight. It still holds up 14 years later. I remember walking out of the theater in awe.

It was my 2nd or 3rd bluray and it really opened my eyes up to 1080p, it is a very high quality transfer.

This film almost doesn't belong in a list with the rest. It was a very different film for him.

Basic Instinct is my favorite from the ones i've seen. Showgirls is some fun cheese. I just got the VIP DVD edition of it and it's an awesome set.
