I need to buy some good headphones and require some feedback.
Mostly they will be used for the Ipod and also watching movies (plugged into my Onkyo Receiver). I am not very familiar with what brands are good. I do not need $500.00 ones either. The ones I have been looking at are the following: Bose around ear: http://www.amazon.com/around-ear-hea...blurayforum-20 Sennheiser Audiophile: http://www.amazon.com/Sennheiser-HD5...blurayforum-20 Phillips noise cancellation: http://www.amazon.com/Philips-SHN950...blurayforum-20 Also no need for the ones that go into the ear as they are pretty uncomfortable. Any suggestions? |

I have Shure E2c's and I love them. I wouldn't buy anything by Bose on principle . . . Sennheiser has a good reputation for quality headphones. Not sure about Phillips, but for that price I'd get something from a proven audio specialist.
Shure's are even on sale. |

Go to headfi.org. This is the best place to research all things headphones. I highly recommend attending a Headfest meet if you get the chance. I went last January to the San Jose meet and had an awesome time. Check it out. For shopping, I recommend www.headphone.com (headroom).
My favorite overall headphone for every day use is the B&O A8 headphone. I like them because they don't block out all of the outside noise like Shures or Ultimate Ears (I just don't like thing stuck in my ears). http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...blurayforum-20 The B&O is not an that expensive and is very comfortable. I use this headphone connected to my iPod Nano and I listen to Howard Stern, music, and other podcasts every day for several hours a day. For high end listening I prefer the Sennheiser 650 and the Audio Technica (great dynamic range). These are great when used with a headphone amp. |

![]() www.gradolabs.com Simply the finest headphones made. The SR60 is a bargain that delivers the best bang for the buck in the headphone world. Their more expensive models can't be touched. Last edited by Ben; 10-07-2007 at 06:47 AM. |

Like BStecke said, Shure makes great stuff. I did like them, but I returned them and got Vmoda Vibe's instead, you can find them at apple.com, they come in different colors. The Bose ones you listed are great too, I just don't like wearing huge headphones with my iPod (plus earbuds REALLY work better and keep sound you don't want out). If you really want headphones look at the new ones by Creative, they look pretty amazing:
http://us.creative.com/local/1/promo...&WT.mc_id=8483 The Alienware are great too, my friend has those. (alienware.com) Good look finding the right ones, I'm still looking my self, but so far I love my Vmoda Vibe's. |

As somebody else mentioned, I would not consider the Bose. I never really liked their speakers but I did try one of their ear phones and they were bad. Didn't block out any noise and the rubber ear piece that fits into your ear fell off the first day I had them and I never found it again. It was one of the worst $125 spent. forget the Bose, I tried one of their |

So I finally got around to checking a little more on new headphones and came across those:
Sennheiser HD-595 Premier Headphone Audio Technica ATHM40FS Precision Extended Response Monitor Headphones Does anyone have experience with those? It's hard to find a place here in Hawaii where you can actually test them ![]() Most ones they have out and playing some music are the Bose ones and cheap Sony... Feedback would be highly appreciated. |
