Default Anyone else still demo their setup? What scene(s)?

I still get a buzz from showing off my setup, by wifey says it is juvenile of me :-)

What are your fav scenes to show off? I use the scene from Transformers where the robot bursts out of the desert and they blow the crap out of the village... and the bit in Casino Royalle where they have the Scorpion/Mongoose fight and the huge chase scene on the construction site.

I also use transformers however i use the opening title sequence where the paramount stars travel full circle through your system, and the opening sequence from the chopper ride in with the troops to the decepticon chooper coming in. Think that scene does the best job of working out my sub and hitting some very effective use of the front stage and surrounds. Right up until the bot takes out the airplanes and it fades to the school is what i use for my stereo.

I usually use the last scene in rambo, pretty intense. I also have been using the train crash scene from super8, that is probably the most impressive audio scene to me.

Entering the Grid, the Light Cycle race, and pretty much the rest of TRON: Legacy.

That movie's got Demo written all over it.

The audio is so good in this movie it's ridiculous! It's what made me move to buy an Monitor 9s for my surrounds and go to 7.1! So damn good!

I live in a brand new construction neighborhood, and we were the second family to move in. I did an extensive pre-wire on the house, and have a nice 5.1 system in my living room.

We are constantly meeting new neighbors now that more homes are being finished, and almost everyone is interested in seeing what I've done for A/V.

My favorite scenes to demo are:
Bolt (Blu-Ray) - Chapter 2 - Highway Chase [7:15]
Kung Fu Panda (Blu-Ray) - Chapter 21 - The Battle of Po and Tai Lung
Avatar (Blu-Ray) - Chapter 30 - Battle for Pandora

Congrats on the new place!

I've used the same first two scenes you posted as well from Bolt and Kung Fu Panda. I love the start of Bolt! The escape scene from Kung Fu Panda is also good to use.

To the op - there are quite a few threads now that have some good scenes posted. Some in this Home Theater section and maybe one or two in the Subwoofer section if you looking for some good LFE scenes. For LFE I use the last fight scene in Incredible Hulk with Abomination and the plane crash from Flight of the Phoenix.

I use "Yogi Bear" to show off my tv system. The scene near the beginning where all the Doritos come flying out of your screen.

When I'm showing it to kids.

And mostly, I use the codfish scene in "Under the Sea" to show off my system.

When I'm showing it to anyone, kids or adults.

Great selection guys.
I will go with some different movies. For example, Alien it's a great way to demostrate the difference between ambients I think.
It's crazy when you are in silence in space and then suddenly you are in ship.

Aliens, at the beggining when they find Ripley and a machine active it a laser. When that laser goes right in front of you and passes by, the LFE is amazing.
The same goes with the fight scene at the end, especially when Ripley appears in the crane. Every footstep it shakes your windows

For sorrounding sound I use this demos from DTS, Dolby and THX:

THX: amazing life.
DOLBY: dolby spheres, dolby countdown, dolby bit harvest, dolby rain, dolby orchestra.
DTS: Any Bd with DTS-HD Ma.

For music for example I go with U2 360 at the Rose Bowl, or The Killers: Live from Royal Albert Hall. Those are the only ones I saw and own on Blu-Ray so...

I can't forget about my favourite movie of all time: Blade Runner.
It's just precious how the music and the details sounds

I had no opportunity yet to see my other favourite movie, 2001, but as far as I know, it's quite beautiful in the sound department.

Well the Blu-Ray arrived today and as predicted the Prometheus landing scene in Prometheus is definitely demo material.

I use Tron Legacy to demo mine.

The sound is superb and the IMAX scenes are amazing.

Obviously Avatar is a cracker too.. I've also got the Big Screen IMAX edition of ROTF but I've yet to watch it..

Haven't "demo'd" my setup in a few years. That's partially due to getting older and not making as much time for friends to hang over. And also due to the fact that none of the people in my circle give a rat's patoot about home theater and remind me how much money I'm wasting on movies "you can download for free."
