Sylvester Stallone may do another Rambo after all

Seems the musclebound bandana-wearing refuge-saving impenetrable Brian Dennehy-hater isn’t quite done. Though Sly Stallone originally called off “Rambo 5″, feeling he’d said all he could say about the character, writer Sean B. Hood (“Conan the Barbarian”) suggests the big guy may have changed his mind.

The writer of the fifth “Rambo”, tweets :

In other words, Sly is open to the possibility of reprising John Rambo again. Depends on the script. Might even depend on who is cast opposite him – if they decide to go the “passing the torch” route. What do you think guys? Should Sly do an ‘Unforgiven’ or ‘Tron Legacy’ when it comes to “Rambo 5″?

I just hope it happens, and no more of this back and forth of will I/won't I that Sly has been doing over the past few years. It's already been four years since the last one. If he's going to do it, get on it and do it. We're waiting.

Agreed. None of that passing of the torch stuff. There is only one Rambo, and it's Stallone. Lionsgate is going to make a fifth with or without him it seems, so I'd rather he did it and went out on a high note than letting Lionsgate doing one without him. There was even rumors of a Rambo prequel at one stage.

If the plan is to still go ahead and have the film called Rambo: The Last Stand then i'm all for the character to die at the end of it, but oddly enough i want the death of John Rambo to be absolutely stand-out heroic rather than something akin to him taking on the Authorities ala First Blood. John Rambo has been trying to find peace within himself since the first film, and to throw that away in the final film would be a major mistake.

Sean Hood, who did a remarkable job of polishing the turd of a script that was Conan 2011 is the screenwriter on this one. I trust the guy to turn in a decent screenplay.

I'm a bit confused. Conan the Barbarian (2011)? That movie came from a polished script?

EDIT: On topic...I don't care whether he lives or dies as long as the movie is as awesome as Rambo IV. I hope it isn't set in the States.

Yeah, it's already been counted out after fan backlash said that it wasn't a Rambo movie. But he still has the property, so it could happen as a standalone movie.

you could almost re-work the treatment and it could be used as another Predator movie as well.

I thought they took the Rambo five beast idea and turned it into The Grey.

Anyways, I thought the Rambo movies were always Rambo VS Government institutions and not wild animals.
