Default Laptops with blu-ray players from QVC

Every once in awhile when I channel surf, I sometimes watch QVC when they sell laptops. Sometimes they'll have one with a blu-ray player. Do you think their laptops would be a good product?

My older brother ordered a regular computer with QVC last year and it works just fine. Don't think it came with Word though.

I wish I could link to one on their site but they currently don't have any laptops with blu-ray players. Has anyone ever bought one from them before?

What do you think? I'm thinking on purchasing a new laptop from QVC in the future.

Is the brand actually QVC, or do they have a licensing agreement with someone like Dell, HP, or Sony? It should be fine, I'd just be worried about warranty, and would check and see if Worst Buy or the direct manufacturer had a better deal or something.

If the laptops are HP, I would avoid them like the plague.

QVC sells Dell and HP and another brand I can't remember. What's wrong with HP?

They have overheating issues, and their disc drives aren't always recognised, as in one minute you have a drive, the next, it will just drop out of existence. Also, this: http://www.squaretrade.com/htm/pdf/S...ility_1109.pdf

HP has a high failure rate. Their quality has diminished. My mother has an HP that's a little over a year old, and it's highly problematic. I gave her my 4-year old Compaq, which is also HP, and it runs better, although it also has had its fair share of problems as well.

Dell's improved from when I last used them from 2004-2007, apparently, but I don't think too highly of them either.

I've had success with Toshiba and Acer. I'm currently trying Sony out now.

Okay, thanks. I will keep this in mind. I've had my Dell laptop for almost 5 years now. There's things wrong with it but it's virus free and still works fine. I'm just ready for a new one (later this year I hope) with a blu-ray player.

Yeah, all machines have their quirks, and no computer is perfect. I've persoanlly just found that HP has been more problematic than any other brand. The Dells I used during university had their issues because they were mass manufactured as cheap as possible for the school. I know others who have had great success with them.

I've had great success with Acer, yet a lot of people hate them.

I have a BD drive in the Sony I just bought, as my last laptop was the Compaq in 2008. I paid about 850 for it, but I looked around before I bought it, and compared specs, reviews, and prices.
