Default Any AV Forum exiles/UK members?

I'm just wondering if there are any AV Forum exiles now on Blu-ray.com?

AV Forum's was an interesting forum for those of us based in the UK, there are few sites with HD discussion's from a UK perspective.

So are there any AVF exiles, or UK based posters in general.

You can sometimes feel a little left out with so much US based discussion, especially with all those great sales and deals!

That would be a yes. this site is pecker drivel free so is quite a breath of fresh air.

But seriously, this site is great for just finding out facts and information about blu ray without having to deal with the trolls constantly.

There are a few others here as well, some go by there same avf names and some have new names as well.

Yep I'm a member over there. I got fed up with their podcasts due to Sony-bashing mind you.

Yeah, I'm there too under the same name.
The info seems to get here much quicker (obviously I suppose).

Although I'm not exactly from the UK

* Feel free to help out on my "new TV" thread!!

Gandley and JAGUAR1977 know me well from AV forums where I'm currently serving a two week suspension for showing what a bunch of HD-DVD hypocrites they really are over there.

Nice to be able to speak your mind over here without fear of being censored or banned.

The mods on AVForums are biased, less so than they used to be, but how they can allow that HD-DVD troll Pecker to get away with what he does.. the guy is a tosser. At least his name is apt.

This forum is not only less abusive (I've got over my abuse with the above) but a far better source of information. Do you get insiders over on AVForums? no, somehow I doubt that will ever happen.

I have to say that if you think this forum is any better than AVF, you are deluded. Promoting rigging of polls, calling HD DVD articles "gay", proposing the banning of HD DVD news, etc. I hardly think this forum is a safe haven for fairness and freedom of expression.

well lets look at the name over the door...ahh yes...Blu-ray.com

i find that AVforums,is a great,informative site,with a good community,and what spoils it,is the massive amounts of trolls,and fanboys,who pop up,and constantly feel hard done
Some Blu-ray owners only feel hard done by when they challenge trolls and fanboys on the HD-DVD side, putting forward facts and alternative, well thought out, replies, only to have threads locked as 'format war' discussions are banned!

Well, they aren't banned when one pro HD-DVD view is dominant, only when that view is challenged.

I doubt anybody was convinced by Peckers postings, it was so obviously rabid garbage that anyone with a brain would have bought Blu-ray instead. The real problem at AVF was the mods and others who encouraged the 'Dual Format' idea as a sensible option, with the idea that HD-DVD was the best first HD purchase. Because it was 'cheap'.

Deleting and banning anyone who disagreed with this policy effectively meant that they were propagating the myth that HD-DVD had any chance of success. It never did, it was impossible for it to win from the beginning and anyone who claimed otherwise was lying.

Just another example of the lunatic rantings of the HD DVD fanboys. This one came from the feedback page on DVD Times website:

Quote:
I really do not think HD films will catch on with Joe Public. I really do think it will be a more successful version of Laserdisc. The format after Blu-ray will become the successor to DVD in my opinion.
So, HD will not catch on as long as it's Blu-ray. But, some unknown format that comes after Blu-ray will succeed? Obviously that new format won't be HD as "I really do not think HD films will catch on with Joe Public".

I am soooo glad that the HD DVD fanboys lost. They have to be the most annoying, deluded things on the face of the Earth.

Have to agree with that - the mods are just as responsible as the likes of Pecker. Now I know they secretly and randomly ban, delete and modify messages to propagate their own agenda I dont see how anyone could take the site seriously.

Its a shame because it was always better than thedvdforums (which is just run by megalomaniac morons IMO) but you have to wonder if any advice you take from their has been manipulated in some way.

Are there ANY decent AV / film forums out there??? (apart from this one of course ).

Complaining about the mods like that will get you a ban.

Unfortunately he was often backed in his general views (not specifics) by those who had more credibility.

Not to mention many who challenged these views with a pro Blu-ray perspective (even when backed by facts) were portrayed as out of control fanboys with no grasp on reality.

I guess realities hit hard now.

I am. When I first got my PS3 I went over there and then found this site a day or so later. I have posted and been on here a lot more. AVS is full of HD-DVD fanboys.
