Thumbs up Little Nemo: Adventures in Slumberland (11/6/12)

Discotek Media announced on Facebook today that they will bring the 1989 animated film Little Nemo: Adventures in Slumberland to Blu-ray on 11/6/12.

It's been a long time since I've seen this film in its entirety, but I am definitely going to check it out again in anticipation of the Blu-ray release!

Day 1 for me.

Cover is a missed opportunity, though. No "shazama pajama" edition?

Definitely a Day 1 here as well. Loved watching this with my sister when we were kids.

I've never actually seen this, but the animation looks awfully nice.

Really excited that Discotek are announcing more Blu-rays. I love their DVDs, so I'm definitely looking forward to true HD transfers from them. Kinda hoping they bring more stuff to Blu-ray that they already have on DVD, even though it'll mean me plunking down more money. ;p

No effing way! I love this movie! I never thought I'd see the day they'd put this on blu-ray, because it's so obscure. Dreams do come true.

I wish they'd pair the introductory song back to Nemo flying in the skies. The VHS was more epic because of that.

Holy smokes, I remember my grandma bought a VHS of this and it was the only movie she owned for a while for when we would come over as kids. I always hated it haha. Brought back some cool memories seeing that cover again, though

I still remember watching this movie in theaters when I was maybe 5 years old. To this day I still enjoy actually sitting down and watching it once every couple of years. Can't wait to own this one

OMG! Freaking day one! I have owned this on VHS and DVD previously and I still absolutely love it to this day! Hopefully the Blu will get a great transfer.

Forget theaters I got to rent this badboy so I wouldn't harass the babysitter... Also had pizza that night

lol I just saw the trailer on youtube.. Think I'd need to be stoned to make it through this again.

"Little Nemo" was an American/Japanese joint project, and Miyazaki and Takahata were involved in the pre-production stage during 1982 and 1983. However, due to creative differences with the American producers, both quit the project. It was finally made into a movie with different staff members and released in 1989 in Japan.

There is a rumor that two pilot films in the Japanese "Nemo" LD box set were done by Miyazaki and Takahata, but they were actually done by Yoshifumi KONDOU and Osamu DEZAKI, respectively. Roger Ebert has done a review of the US release.

I remember the Capcom game more than the movie, but I'll buy it anyway.

I don't know when or how, but I remember that cover...
That memory seems like a dream though in my head. I have played the game on an emulator and it was awesome!! Didn't know it was based on a movie. Definitely getting this, seems very interesting
