The producers are now in place who have to bring E L James' 50 Shades Of Grey to the big screen...

The books that have made reading a bit of how's your father acceptable in public places are heading to the movies. It had previously been revealed that E L James' 50 Shades Of Grey was heading to the big screen, with Universal and Focus Features snapping up the movie rights for $5m. Now we know whose job it is to make the film(s) happen.

The project has landed in the arms of Michael De Luca and Dana Brunetti. They're the pair who have each recently produced films such as The Social Network and Moneyball, and presumably it's their experience with book adaptations that's help land them the film.

A Universal statement from co-chairman Donna Langley read "At its core, Fifty Shades Of Grey is a complex love story, requiring a delicate and sophisticated hand to bring it to the big screen". We thought it was about bonking ourselves, but then history is littered with people taking different interpretations from the same stories.

The hunt is now on for screenwriters, a director and cast. A few props wouldn't do any harm, either...

And its sad to me how many young hollywood starlets WANT to play the female protagonist. Selena Gomez, Lucy Hale, etc. Like they've read the book, do they know how graphic this film is going to be? Shy away from that Disney image worse than Miley and see your career tank.

The producers had better hire a damn good screenwriter to "adapt" the novels because they'll have their work cut out for them. I only made it a fraction of the way through the first book and have yet to pick it back up. The main characters were beyond infuriating... and I'm including her "inner goddess" as one since she was constantly talking about her.

I believe this is now being heralded as the fastest selling book series of all-time.

I haven't read the book, just bits and pieces or audio of it all around the web since all my female friends kept going on about it. It's a cross between 9 1/2 weeks and Secretary, but without the story or believability. Whoever takes the part better be comfortable with nudity.

I've heard some True Blood actors, Alexander Skarsgard and Joe Manganiello are interested in the part. Michael Fassbender could do it, but it would end up being Shame 2 : Better Apartment.

Ab-so-freaking-lutely horrible! Heard about this book from my boyfriend who heard about it on ESPN and kindled it. Atrociously written. I'm lumping the fans of this in w/the Oprah zombies, mindless sheeple.
