Am I the only one who hates the slipcovers? - Blu-ray Forum

Who hates the Sleaves some movies come in like Pirates, Crank etc...? I hate em I throw em away... I like all my BD's To look the same on the shelf ha ha.. anyone else out there who hates them like me?

I dont hate them, but it does look odd since most of the early movies didnt have them, so when i display them they just dont seem to match good.

They honestly dont bother me at all. Yeah it makes the stack look different but then again, so does the MI box set. I wouldnt throw away the box...

I figure I might as well keep everything down to those bullshit fliers they put in the box also. Movies are expensive... ill keep every bit of murchandise that comes with them. JMO anyway...

I prefer them on certain movies like Pirates... Good transfer and it makes the cases stick out... I want one on Superbad!

I hate them too. Not only are they pointless, but they are also added waste to the environment. I can't understand the logic behind the idea. At one point I had been storing all of mine. Then, one day I opened the closet door where they were stored and they had shifted and leaned against the door. They tumbled out en-mass, which made me think, "What the hell? How many of these things do I have here?" So, I counted them. I had 115 sleeves!!! Isn't that ridiculous? Just think about how much waste that causes! And not to mention the extra printing cost on the damn things. Studios are better off not putting their $$$ into ridiculous junk.

You shouldn't throw away the slipcovers, there's an underground slavetrade market for disney slipcovers didn't you know?

In a couple of years when High Def is mainstream, those slipcovers coulda been the cornerstorne for a college education. Or a 2160p projector

yea they get them so they can try to authenticate the Malyaisan boot leg imports. Ever notice why movies are so cheap at release used, thats why, the old 3.00 import.(wholesale)
I sell the real thing and get beat to death on my prices as I cannot turn a profit competing against them. So I have to moved to blu and some Hd, and the 2 disc sets on dvd as they are usually not replicated

That stuff becomes collectable over time, but it doesn't make any sense with a Sony HES-V1000 Home Entertainment Server. (I have my eye on one of those little critters, not that I'll get one in the near future.)

I like slipcovers, the way they look... but umm... yeah i've never actually gotten a boxset before... that'll change with Spidey I hope, hehe.

The covers usually end up in the garbage. They are kinda nice but I like seeing the BLU case.

i don't hate them, they're just annoying as shit removing to play a movie... i throw them away. they really don't add any "value" to my collection, asthetically or monitarily.

I hate them too they just dont look right displayed with the rest of the slipcaseless movies LOL. I do keep them in a box put away just incase I decide to sell the moives down the road

They're there for selling purposes. The plastic cover dulls the artwork and they can't do cool effects and embossing. It helps the disc stand out on the shelf
