Question Should I contact Amazon?

I had to order a few things last Friday and not wanting to pay $8.99/item for Saturday I opted for Monday delivery.. well the packaged ended up being shipped FedEX smart post and arrived in my town early Saturday morning but Amazon's estimated delivery was for today July 16th

however unless USPS still delivers at 7:34 Pm it's not coming today and the tracking hasn't had any updates since Saturday.

I assume you are a Prime user. Strange that Amazon used Fedex Smart Post, one of the more unreliable delivery methods for a Prime package. If you complain a bit to customer service, they might offer you a small refund or something.

yeah I was pretty disappointed with that, i just contacted them so I will see what happens..

Funny thing was I ordered something else which a seller sells on Amazon and it's going to be here on Wed by UPS.. I swear if that arrives before this package does no more free shipping on Friday orders only Saturday prime.

Hello,

I am truly sorry to learn that you didn't receive the package yet.

I have checked the details of the order and found that the shipment has been scheduled Delivery by the USPS as: July 16, 2012.

I've contacted USPS on your behalf and asked them the status of the package. USPS representative informed that there was a delay as the truck was not able to deliver the package and also informed that the package is still on the truck and is scheduled to be delivered on July 18, 2012.

wow.. the friken 18th?? that means my UPS package will arrive before the Amazon shipped and sold vs a seller on Amazon.

Smart Post is ridiculous. I hate when vendors use it. Its even worse when they do not tell you that they will use it. I'm glad that AMZ stepped up and did right by you. It sucks that you have to wait.

I would of expected maybe Fedex or UPS.. and maybe smart post stuff for thin small stuff.. Granted my item is on the small side (intel CPU) but it's another day I can't turn on the newly built PC..

All I can say is good thing I ordered it 2 weeks ahead of when I needed to use the system at a music gig!!

I'm guessing they are figure the distance but that's not how it works with smartpost.. and more so when you have two parties involved.

hmm funny package just arrived at the post office, well I will say scanned. So maybe I have hope today.

Glad Amazon made good I really wasn't expecting anything because I used prime free shipping but that's good because I need to order something else this Friday but this time Saturday delivery this time
