I might have to pick this up - heard a lot about it but never seen it. Isn't it meant to be one of the saddest films of all time?

It's a great film but don't think I could bring myself to watch through it again . It's nothing like any of the other Ghibli movies i.e it's not set in a fantastical world with no talking creatures, so brace youself for land of no whimsy.

Watched this for the first time last night. It broke my heart. I seriously can't get over what happened. I was seriously upset by it but at the same time I loved it a lot and will definitely fork out £60 for the Japanese edition as well as buying the UK edition when it comes out and yes, even the US one too whenever that might be.

Could make a stone cry, or a robot for that matter.

It is pretty heartbreaking, wouldn't recommend this one for kids.
