Default The Raven arrives on October 9th.... Pre-order

The Raven Blu-ray

The gothic murder mystery from director James McTeigue will be gently tapping at Blu-ray's door this October.
20th Century Fox is preparing 'The Raven' for Blu-ray on October 9.

John Cusack and Luke Evans star in this blood-curdling tale of terror that's as dark and haunting as the legendary master of the macabre who inspired it - Edgar Allan Poe.

Baltimore, 1849. While investigating a horrific double murder, police detective Emmett Fields (Evans) makes a startling discovery: the killer's methods mirror the twisted writings of Edgar Allan Poe (Cusack). Suspecting Poe at first, Fields ultimately enlists his help to stop future attacks. But in this deadly game of cat and mouse, the stakes are raised with each gruesome slaying as the pair races to catch a madman before he brings every one of Poe's shocking stories to chilling life...and death.

The Blu-ray/DVD/Digital Copy combo pack will feature 1080p video, and DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 soundtrack, and supplements will include: Audio Commentary by Director James McTeigue, Producers Marc D. Evans; and a Theatrical Trailer.

Blu-ray exclusives include: Deleted & Extended Scenes; The Raven Guts: Bringing Death to Life; The Madness, Misery, and Mystery of Edgar Allan Poe; Behind the Beauty and Horror; The Raven Presents John Cusack & James McTeigue; and Music for the Raven: The Team.
Suggested list price for the Blu-ray is $39.99.

Well it would appear judging by this thread there's not much intrest in this film. Alot of people on IMDb seem to like it & the trailer looks cool. Any opinions on a blind buy from people who've seen it ?

My wife and I saw this in a theater and thought it was good. I'm a sucker for the time period as long as the movie is decent and we thought this was good enough.

I am a sucker for period horrors and atmospheric movies. I was so excited for this movie after watching the trailer but it turned out to be very bad. I will not add this movie in my collection even for free. I just hate Cusack's overacting in this movie and there are so many plot holes and mistakes as well. Glad I didnt blind buy it which I was almost! Follow my advise and rent it first. Believe me you ll thank me for saving you some bucks

+1 The wife and I saw this as well. I really liked it and as with you I'm a sucker for anything (drama, horror, etc) if its placed in a period of time such as Victorian, Dark Age, Roman, etc. I will be getting this. Mayday72 at the very least give it a rent. If you like it you can always pick it up a few months from now.

Default The Raven...Has anyone seen this???

Has anyone seen "The Raven"? I remember the previews looking pretty good. It looked like it had a good premise about it. I haven't seen any blu-ray reviews on this movie yet so I was just wondering what you good people thought about the movie...if you saw it?

I've seen it and it's a decent sometimes clever little thriller. However, I felt that Cusack was miscast as Poe. And the movie is not for every taste. I would probably go with a rental on this one to see if you like the tone.

I've seen it and liked it. Crime / thriller / horror combination set in the 1800's using Poe as the protagonist. I will will be picking up the bluray at some point.

I skipped it, but judging by the complete lack of attention this new release is getting, I'd assume it's not very good.
