Default What "grade" would you give your education?

Rate your education!

I would give my compulsory (the required one) a C-/D+. This is public school, etc.

I went back after I was done with school and relearned math, vocab., writing... Etc.

I'd give the education I received once I was done with school a B+.

I did go to college too but really received nothing that helps, in what I do now, from the many thousands it cost. Although, it was good to have on a resume right at the beginning.

Now, I can say things like The melancholy plagued my soul's path into the future, but not much is acceptable from me talking like that which is why I never use it.

I've always felt K-12 should let you choose the subjects like in college. There's a point in life when you realize maybe you suck at something and you'll probably never pursue a career in that field so just going through it is pointless for everyone involved.

My middle school from 2000-2002 and my high school from 2002-2006? A.

Now? Probably a C on the high school and I haven't been back to the middle school since.

My education at Georgia Tech and Georgia State? Probably a D. Neither one prepared me for the real world. Theory theory theory. In fact, the reason why I chose not to pursue an engineering job after graduating from GT is because I didn't feel prepared to solve the ridiculously complicated problems that industrial engineers face in the real world as well as the responsibility that comes with being an engineer.

Now that I am a teacher back in the high school realm, I would probably rate the entire education system as a whole an F.

i give my primary education a d (and that may be generous).

i was "educated" in a public school in alabama.

at that time (and i believe even now, could be worse) we were 49th in education out of 50 states; with the only state behind us being mississippi.

to give you an idea of how my education went, i'll tell you what my geometry teacher told us one day in class.

"look, it doesn't matter to me if you guys learn this stuff or not. i'm gonna get paid regardless."

really?! way to "teach" us and help us actually learn.

of course, he was out of teaching school only 1 year and was always flirting with the hot cheerleaders and other pretty girls.

i got a better education in my music classes in high school than i did in any other subject. of course i love music so it was easy to learn in those classes.

my english teacher was a fan of the "drink". she kept a bottle of "something" in her closet (saw it many times when the closet was opened). i don't know why no one ever said anything about it or how she got away with it for so long, but it was there. i had her for both my 10th and 12th grade english classes and there were quite a few times where she would just sleep during class and we would do whatever.

i'd give my secondary education a high b to an a.

when i went to a technical school to get my associate degrees, my math teacher there was one of the best instructor's i've ever had. my other instructor's were great as well, but she really stood out as being the best.

she actually cared about us and wanted us to learn everything she taught us. she would stay late just to make sure we understood what she was teaching and to help us with anything.

i hate math. i've always hated it. but because of her i aced the classes (all 3) and even aced all the finals. she was an awesome instructor. if i'd had teachers like her in high school, it would have been much more enjoyable and i probably would've stayed at college and actually graduated.
