ATM review mistakes

If your going to reference names in your review, you should at least check IMDB or another online resource for accuracy. There are two references made in the review for ATM by Casey Broadwater, that are incorrect. First of all, it's Alfred Hitchcock, not Albert, and second, the star in Buried is Ryan Reynolds, not Ryan Gosling. I'm not sure If there were any other mistakes, because I stopped reading after the second mistake. Why should I take the time to read a review if the author won't take the time to fact check?

Besides, this is a site that reviews movies. Not mis-diagnosed medical records, the New York Times, or legal documents for the supreme court.

Noticed that myself when I read it this morning. That is pretty poor. Mistaking Gosling for Reynolds, ok, I could maybe see that, but really? Albert Hitchcock?

A mistake like that certainly doesn't lend favor to his credibility as a reviewer.

I imagine most of the time the reviewer has to edit and proof-read their own reviews here. It's easy for your eyes to glaze over reading your own stuff and missing mistakes like the Albert for Alfred.

Dude, it's not a big deal. Casey is taking the time to review hundreds of Blu-rays for everyone (a whooping 654 reviews to be precise) so that you can determine if you should buy or rent the Blu-ray or not. Mistakes happen. Not a big deal to make a hissy fit as if he's wasting your time. What a drama queen! Instead of making a complaining-to-the-world thread, you could have made a productive Private Message to Casey to fix his minor mistakes.

I'm sure the reviewer(Casey) knows it was Reynolds, and knows Mr. Hitchcock's first name. It was a silly mistake(or two), nothing more.

Actually, it is a big deal. That's his job. I guess people aren't expected to do their job properly anymore? His words give him credibility. If he can't even get simple facts straight, then why should the rest of his review hold any water?

I agree with you, retablo.

If I turned in a report with spelling errors, and factual errors to my boss, I highly doubt I would still retain my current position of employment.

I may not think his errors are as big of a deal as others, but regardless, it is still shoddy work and obviously will affect his credibility as a reviewer to some users (including the OP).
