Disney G-Force 3D Blu-ray (2009) [Region Free]

...I have to say, it's pretty awesome! Its aspect ratio doesn't fill the full screen, but the 3D elements use the whole screen, so it adds to the pop-out feel. Sparks fly, and they literally pop out of the frame onto the black bars.

It's not the best movie, but I thought the 3D was very creative!

I have to agree! I love the way they utilized the 3D in this movie. Was fun to watch.

I was tempted to get it, but I thought I'd wait considering I didn't think this was the greatest movie lol. However that movie does have some awesome 3D moments if I can remember I think

Default Loved to watch it

Disney's G-Force is a great movie that I loved the most and I think the 3D really adds to the enjoyment factor of it. The 3D effect, for the most part, is very good with plenty of 3d pop out effects. CG elements look the best, and this is a film with a good amount depth as well. I consider, this family comedy adventure is the best 3D you can get. G-Force is fantastic 3D fun for the whole family, from the producer of Pirates of the Caribbean and National Treasure.

Default The Sunday Morning Re-View

No its not a "review" it's a Re-View(ing)

It's Sunday here in lil' ol' New Zealand....and I just felt like kickin back and taking in (or should that be re-visiting) a movie....I flicked through my collection and just really couldn't decide what I felt like watching.....Eventually I found my feature for a "Sunday Morning Re-View"

My victim of choice was.....

Now I have to say just how much I had forgotten how good the presentation is on this movie.....brilliant coloring, excellent detail and above all great use of 3D! In fact I would say that this is one of those "under-rated" 3D releases....and one that even puts some of the more recent releases to shame!

So what do you guys think?...does G-Force deserve more praise than it gets? - go on watch it again, and tell me that the presentation isnt something stellar!

Chris

Your right. This is a very stellar and underrated 3D presentation.
I'm going to watch this (again) on the projector (first time) soon.

Thanks for the review on this older title in 3D. So would you say G Force 3D has weak, medium or strong 3D compared to Avatar's strong filmed 3D for example, or Pacific Rim's strong 3D as a hybrid conversion? Was this converted or filmed in 3D for the humans? Thanks.

Is GForce comparable to Cats and Dogs 3D?

G-Force is a relatively aggressive 2D conversion. I noticed there were a few instances where the offset was a little too much during certain shots, such as when sparks fly, etc.

The only weird thing about the presentation is that the film is 2.35, and periodically, they deliberately take 3D effects into the black bars to extend the effects.

fitprod

Note, how does it compare to Cats & Dogs: Revenge of Kitty Galore? G-Force is actually a good movie. Cats & Dogs 2 should have been scrapped at the concept page. (I know you're asking about 3D, but there has to be a point where you go, "No, that movie sucks so bad, I wont do it...")

And I love it when it happens!!! It's absolutely brilliant to allow 3D objects to penetrate the black bars that frame the widescreen movie area. I am surprised there aren't any other 3D movies that incorporate the effect.

So, this is an early conversion, but it’s got impressive popouts? I’m guessing the CGI was natively rendered in 3-D then? I’ve never seen this but was thinking of picking it up.

It's quite a rare disc now and appears only to be getting more expensive so I wouldn't think on it too long.

I wouldn't say the popouts are THAT impressive, this is a Disney movie after all - the main selling point is the use of frame breaks where images appear in front of the black bars. It's very similar in that respect to the Ghostbusters remake.

I remember enjoying this one. I will have to check it out again. Over the last month I have been rewatcing older 3D movies. Some were like watching for the first time since I did not remember the story lines.

I liked G-Force and its 3D, but I don't like frame breaking in general so those parts didn't do much for me. I'd prefer full 16:9 over frame breaks in a perfect world

Every time I see this title I think of this -

So last night I let the TV convert some episodes to 3D.
