Default Hunger Games (Target Exclusive Edition) - Stupid Black Security Tag!!

Hey Guys,

Got a question for those of you who went and got the Target Exclusive Edition of Hunger Games (the 3-disc edition).

After taking off the slipcover and opening up the tri-fold to reveal the discs, was there a black security tag that was stuck onto the picture in the middle? That's what happened with my copy and guess what the tag was stuck on one of those people's face (WTF!). Now normally I would remove these tags with no problem when they are stuck to the blu ray cases, but since the picture is cardboard, I was afraid that if I tried to remove it, the picture will be damaged anyways.

Anyone of you unlucky like me and what was your solution??? Can anyone confirm that it is SAFE to remove the tag without any residue or cause any damage???

Thx

Mine was over their held hands I took it off as carefully as possible and a tiny bit of the picture did rip off, not noticible unless you look hard, you really want to be careful.

I left mine on, I wasn't going to risk it. I'd rather have the security tag than a rip. It doesn't really bother me.

Try and heat it up a little if you can, to soften the adhesive. And then slowly work a thin razor blade underneath all of the edges to loosen it up. Finally, peel very, very slowly, and hopefully it will come off fine for you. I got mine off using this method and you can't even tell that it was ever there. And if you damage it, return it to Target and complain that their security tag ruined your packaging, and they'll let you exchange it for another.

I was able to, very carefully, get mine off...and I mean it took about 20mins with a straight razor and tweezers.
If you don't want to go that route...definitely just leave it on! Over time the adhesive will dry up and it will probably fall off.
Another idea to speed up that process, remove the discs and place the empty case in a simple cardboard box and place it out in the sun(or sunlight coming through the window inside), this will cause the tag's adhesive material to dry up even faster and you might have an easier time removing.

Best of luck! Either way, you've still got a great release!
