The transfer is the same. Additional clean up was done by Cliff.

Yep, same transfer but with addition clean up. Cliff went back in and digitally cleaned up the scratches and dirt on the existing master and tweaked the color in a few places.

Can we see some screen cap comparison shots? I'm just hoping it's not quite as grainy as the Universal release... and I'm not talking about film grain, I'm talking about pulsating grain in most of the blacks. I have an HDTV file on my DVR and it looks much better and cleaner than the Universal blu-ray with comparable detail.

Main reason I'm buying this release right there. The H2 transfer on the Universal release needed clean up. I don't like when companies think they can get away with not doing that. I don't even like it when Kino does that. But yes, I'm very happy that Cliff did that.

I guess I'm waiting for the official release date since I put in my pre-order at Amazon with free shipping. I think I can wait, although it would be interesting to see a review early for these releases.

Is the TV cut of Halloween 2 the theatrical version with the TV scenes added in? Or is it the actual cut they show on TV with the violence and language cut out?

It's the TV cut. Cut gore, nudity and in 1.33:1.

And if the main feature didn't have subs, I doubt the TV cut would.

I finally watched the TV cut last night, which I'd never seen.

When Laurie climbs through the window in the boiler room, and falls down into the next room, I thought the stunt actor had no panties on. So, I stepped through it frame-by-frame, and sure enough, she showed her bare tush for one or two frames.

It's in the theatrical version too, but is actually more noticeable in the TV cut because the 2.35:1 frame has been blown up to make the 4:3 image. I'm surprised they left it on the TV cut, but I guess nobody could see the image w/ such clarity back when it was created.

I hate to be the boner-killer here, but I checked this out and compared the blu-ray. On the DVD when she falls it looked like prominent tan lines but it was blurry so I thought it could be panties. On the blu-ray it is definitely big panties. But on the DVD it did look like when she's climbing through the window shot from M Meyer's POV, she's not wearing underwear or it's a thong or wedgie, but then falls down with big white panties or tan lines that weren't there before. Guess that could be a continuity error. I didn't waste too much time comparing this a dozen times, so I may have missed something, but I did go frame by frame twice. Also I didn't double check enough to confirm if any of the butt related footage is different between the TV and theatrical cut.
