This is a continuation of the discussion that started in the Target -- Marvel's The Avengers 3D Combo Pack with Bonus Disc for $19.99 thread.
While it's not a new practice, many Targets are damaging their Avengers Exclusive slip-covers in the "plastic coffin" security cases that are too small to hold them. Testimonials and pics have been provided to show how the slips are forced into these security cases, ultimately damaging them. This lead to an side-discussion of Target's pattern of damaging Blu-ray packaging, including larger/TV set edges being dented in "spider-wrap." It was suggested that a new thread be started here... I stopped by one of my Targets (Ypsi, MI) this morning and saw several examples, listed below in spoiler form. I've also seen this practice at the Ann Arbor location: [Show spoiler] - Tops of two Disney slip-covers destroyed by plastic coffins.[Show spoiler] - Spider-wrap dents Harry Potter on all sides.[Show spoiler] - Spider-wrap dents Jason Bourne on all sides.[Show spoiler] - Spider-wrap dents Game of Thrones on top.Per blu-ray_girl_fan's suggestion: Let's keep posts to one-per-user, and just update our posts when we find more examples. This will keep the thread relevant, and useful to new readers. Thanks! Last edited by strumdogg; 09-30-2012 at 01:24 AM. Reason: Re-sized images, added captions, and props to blu-ray_girl_fan. |

Might I suggest one post per person? That way, we can keep the thread to a manageable length. We can just keep editing our single post as we add pictures and stuff.
I'll come back and re-link to some of my pictures from other threads... By the way, I hope my participation in this thread convinces other forum members that I don't work for Target. ![]() Plastic coffins ruining slipcovers: [Show spoiler] [Show spoiler] Putting security stickers on slipcovers: [Show spoiler] Spiderwraps on TV box sets: [Show spoiler] Cramming products into shelves: [Show spoiler] [Show spoiler]

Borders (before they went under) was also bad about over-tightening the spider-wrap on expensive hardcover books. I had a discussion with their manager about how they were never going to sell a $100 graphic novel with damage like that... I told them they actually would be better off letting it get stolen and being reimbursed by insurance... because that damage wouldn't be self-inflicted!

I'm pretty sure the thread was already done before. It probably got deleted during the site's data loss.

The Target next to where I work just started using keepers for most movies and tv shows. I got The Big Bang Theory Season 6 on Blu-ray since it was only place in the area that had it in stock and didn't want to wait on shipping and just got a Target giftcard.
