Default Your First Steelbook

I realise this thread has been made before but I thought I'd ressurect it. So what was your first steelbook?
When did you get it, how much was it, did you plan on getting it or was it an impulse buy, had you seen the movie before, was it Blu-ray or DVD. Was this what got you into steelbook collecting or did it take a few before you became addicted.

My first steelbook was Daredevil the Definitive Edition, I bought it in 2007/08 I think.
I bought it in HMV in Heathrow airport on my way home from London. It was pretty much an impulse buy, I had seen it in cinemas when it came out but couldn't really remember it so I got it, I think it was £15

This didn't really get me into steelbooks, I've only become properly addicted in the last few months or so and as you'd expect my steelbook collection and Blu-ray collection is pretty small. I'm only just switching from DVDs.

So whats yours?

My first Steelbook was the Ratatouille Best Buy exclusive. I was just getting into Blu-ray's and I didn't even realize it was different packaging than the standard release until waaaaay later lol. No wonder I spent nearly $40!

My first one was the Sweeney Todd UK import, only bought it because it wasn't available in NA yet, didn't really care that it was a steelbook.

DVD: The FYE exclusive Cloverfield. (considering the Zavvi blu-ray one and giving the DVD one to my sister).
Blu-ray: Batman Begins and The Dark Knight thanks to BBY U&S. Got 'em for $5 apiece.

According to my receipt, the first one I purchased was The Matrix that BBY had on sale this summer. Realized I didn't wanna double dip since I had the trilogy so took it back. So that would make 300 as my first SB purchase.

My first steelbook ever was actually 2 that I bought from Best Buy when they were cheap. I got Sucker Punch and 300. Not a huge fan of the movies but I wanted both of them on my shelf :P

Do you still have it or did you sell it for a small fortune?

Upon first glance I thought this was a stupid idea for a thread but here I am playing along. My one and only steelbook is Scarface. Nothing against steelbooks, I actually prefer them. They are just not readily available. I wish my whole collection was steel!

Thumbs up

Mine was The Dar Knight. I knew about steelbooks, but never "knew" what they were like until my bro came home from a bby U&S with one. I imediately traded mine in and picked up TDK one. My favorite one I own is Titanic or Jaws.
