United Kingdom Paranormal Activity 4 - February 25th, 2013

The (weakest) activity haunts homes in an Extended Cut on Blu-ray Triple Play this February. Interesting to note it's now an 18 certificate.

Personally, I liked 3. Just don't watch the trailer for it. 2 was, indeed, God awful. I remember seeing it at the cinema and the audience was laughing so much, some chav stood up and told everyone to shut up.

I am trying to resist going to IMDb now.

Never heard gash related to films before.

I though 2 was fairly decent, 3 is easily the best and most effed up one. Not seen part four yet.

The third was my favourite of the first 3. Not seen this yet but will pick this up.

I love all these films. Purposely missed this one at the cinema though as I've been fed up of films like this that depend on atmosphere being ruined by ignorant, selfish idiots in the crowd so will be pre-ordering this.

Don't put too much stock in that - the BBFC haven't rated the extended feature. Probably on there to play it safe or to provoke some excitement (or both). Reminds me of when the temp artwork for Beowulf's Director's Cut had 18 certificates all over it, which sadly turned out not to be the case.

This one had some neat ideas (
[Show spoiler]the use of the Kinnect lighting
) and scenes (
[Show spoiler]said lighting creating the image of a boy
) though the twist of
[Show spoiler]the brother being Hunter
falls apart like wet toilet paper when you try and think about it (
[Show spoiler]so Kaite lost Hunter who was then adopted by this family somehow and she picked up a replacement child along the way for some reason?
).

Not a bad film but coming off the impressive third film it felt like weak padding out of the franchise until the next entry.
