I can't stand that F'ing song. It's the Macarena all over again. I still remember all the middle aged and old losers that would get up and try and dance to it in the 90's, they looked ridiculous. When I 1st heard Gangnam style I actually thought he was saying condom style. The guy will try to replicate the success of it with his next 2 or 3 releases, but as usual they won't be as popular, then he will be forgotten about soon after.

The thing with Macarena was it was the first track off Los Del Rio's debut album so without delivering another Macarena they were doomed. Had nothing to fall back on. While PSY has been around for more than a decade and had a built up fanbase in Korea and internationally with K-Pop fans before this. And songs like Right Now are much better than Gangnam Style. It was more the video that made this go viral as well as K-Pop being on a wave of gaining popularity in general leading into that which is why K-Pop songs constantly show up in the most viewed YouTube videos. So while he is likely to never have such a huge viral hit he is still positioned well for after this fad dies off with the fanbase he already had and new fans that will keep following him. As long as K-Pop can keep going strong at least that is and not fade away like J-Pop has seemed to have done ever since K-Pop starting taking over.

That and Macarena is more deserving of being compared to songs like Friday and Hot Problems because it is one of the worst songs ever made
