Even if I have £100,000,000 to spend that is just way to much to ask.
I dough they will be selling many at this price + Enterprise
Might have to wait a bit for it to drop.
The right price for me would be about £35

BOBW 1 is included on the season 3 set. The Best Of Both Worlds single disc edition features both parts 1 and 2 as a feature length movie. You don't have to buy it.

No, I don't have to buy it. But I would like to without having to empty my piggy bank on S3 first.

Besides, you're missing the point: the 'movie' edit is a unique feature on the standalone disc, which is why I would like to buy it. I can wait for S4 to see part 2, no problem, but the 'movie' edit appeals to me because I've seen it that way before and it worked really well, and I won't have to faff about with separate discs when watching it.

Hopefully they'll do more as I know a lot of people won't be getting the BD sets for a while due to their price and feature-length Trek is great (as we didn't really get enough TNG movies).

The X-Files had quite a few separate releases on VHS and DVD, maybe FOX will do the same with the BD's if it helps with the cost of remastering the series but they should include vouchers for the full sets like TNG did with the sampler.

The standalone disc is a release tailored for the casual fan who isn't interested in or can't afford to buy the complete season sets. I agree that the movie edit is a unique feature (I for one prefer the seperate episodes) but it could very well be possible that the movie edit will be a special feature on either the season 3 or season 4 set.

Yes, these BD sets are expensive, but I truely believe that this individual release (and perhaps future releases) aren't meant to extort additional money from fans but actually allow them to see one of the most popular Trek episodes ever without them having to buy the individual seasons for 100 - 120 pounds.

WOW!!! I am quite upset right now!!!

The entire reason that I first wanted my wife to start watching ST:TNG in the first place was for The Best Of Both Worlds. I wanted to see her expression when she experienced the Star Trek equivalent of "Luke, I am your father." It was the quintessential WTF moment in the entire series. So, my question is...

WHO WAS THE F@CKING GENIUS THAT DECIDED TO PUT PICARD AS LOCUTUS AS ONE OF THE FIRST CLIPS TO BE SHOWN ON THE BLU-RAY MENU?!?!?! Talk about the single greatest spoiler to ruin in ALL of Trek canon. If I was involved in ANY way with the production of this season set, the first thing I would have said would have been, "What if the fans are wanting to introduce the series to friends/family who have never seen it? shouldn't we avoid showing that critical moment? Fans will already know it, so there is absolutely no loss in not showing it while there is a lot to gain from new fans by not showing it."

What a complete and total disappointment! It has genuinely ruined my excitement for showing her the series now.

Maybe it's because Amazon think they can charge what they like!

I wouldn't worry about the price yet. The release is 3 months away, I would find it to be a miracle if that price wouldn't drop by then.

That, or then they're incredibly greedy bastards.

What is the deal with that Best of Both Worlds release tho? Last episode of season 3 and first episode of season 4 in a separate release? Why? Is there somekind of reason for it that a newly born Trekkie doesn't understand yet or are they just cashing? (Haven't seen those seasons yet)

If this had been the same kind of price as the others it would have been an instant pre-order but that's just to steep for a single season, even with all the work that's gone into them.

It's obviously trying to cash in, but I can see the appeal. Two of the most important episodes of the whole of TNG straight away, instead of waiting for Season 4 to come out. Just depends how patient you are. Considering "The Next Level" was like £5 and had more episodes, it smells of greed. I guess they aren't doing too well.

TNG Season 2 was £60+ on HMV's site for months but within a few weeks of release it was down to £48 then slowly crept upto £55 by release day so expect these temporary prices to drop in the next few months, you can be sure TNG S3 will be available for around £45 on release (depending where you shop) and the Best of Both Worlds disc will be around £7
