They released Soft Top Hard Shoulder. They just released The Hours and the Times, although it should be noted they're just distributing Oscilloscope's release over here, without producing new artwork or a new disc. Sneakers seems an odd choice because I thought they would stick to hard to find and forgotten British films, but it doesn't mean I don't welcome it. Although they tweeted they have less than 50 copies of The Hours and the Times left so could be a limited release? I haven't really seen people talking about it on here compared to their first release.

Film Stories is getting into the physical media business, and we’re bringing the film Sneakers back to Blu-ray in the UK.

Over the near-three years I’ve been doing Film Stories in its various forms, I’ve been writing and talking about my love of physical film media quite a lot. I’m a huge, passionate fan of physical copies of films, and have seen lots of titles fall out of print, and some not even getting a disc release at all.

I’m going to test the water to try and do something about that.

With huge thanks to Plumeria Pictures, I’ve teamed up with them to launch a small, handpicked physical media label for Film Stories. I’m very much looking to support the third-party labels that have been doing such wonderful work flying the physical media flag, so not looking to bid against them for titles or anything like that. Instead, to see if there’s a film that doesn’t have a good disc release, or has perhaps fallen out of print, and do something about that.

And I’m starting with one of my favourite film of the 1990s: Sneakers.

I love this film. A lot.

This will be the first Film Stories Blu-ray release, coming on June 28th 2021. It’ll feature previously published extras that we can lay our hands on, as well as a brand-new commentary track that I’m recording with screenwriter and fellow Sneakers devotee James Moran.

These are being sold mail order only. It’s a limited run I’m doing because, well, this is a bit of a gamble. There are just 1000 copies available that come with the special Sneakers*-themed slipcase too. Sneakers is actually an off shoot for Plumeria and is being done in conjunction with the Film Stories magazine as a test/limited run for future releases:-
