I'm really looking forward to getting this. When I saw it in theaters I noticed the Oscilloscope logo at the start and was thrilled because all of their blu releases so far have been excellent. So glad this has finally been announced!

I saw this last year. It had very little dialogue, but still held my attention for the whole film.
My favourite is the 1939 adaptation starring Laurence Olivier and Merle Oberon. It was re-released on DVD by Warner Bros recently. Here's hoping they put it out on Blu-ray, too. |

Eww, barf. Is that the actual blu ray artwork?? It looks like a TV Guide ad for a Hallmark Channel movie of the week. Not representative of the film at all. I normally don't get too fussy over packaging but I don't want to spend money on that total mess. Guess I'll be importing.

That's certainly an improvement... although last night this
![]() was still what was shown on this website and on Oscilloscope's website. Apparently I wasn't the only one that was displeased. ![]() |

Her last film, Fish Tank, was also in that ratio and gave the film an intimate and claustrophobic feel. Much the same as in this film. Why you be bummed about an aspect ratio? It works extremely well.

I'm a bit surprised by the palette of colors in the Oscilloscope release. It looks as the color have been "recalibrated" to a darker color palette.
![]() I'm a huge fan of Robbie Ryan's photography in Fish Tank (Andrea Arnold's previous movie), and more recenly Ginger & Rosa. when Wuthering Heights came in blu-ray last year, as soon as I've seen the captures I ordered the Blu-Ray UK last year. That was a blind bought. And it turned out to be one of my favorite movie of last year... in came out in theatres in France just a few months ago, and the color in theatres seems close to what I've seen on the UK blu-ray. like in Fish Tank we goes to vivid colors with warm, sun, etc... to cold colors; dark, mud, stormy sky, etc... I'm a bit disturbed by the fact that on the Blu-Ray US by Oscilloscope the color palette seems darker on the captures, and it looks like all colors have been "recalibrated" to a less vivid palette; perhaps paler is not the right word; the scene with Kaya Scodelario seems very dark (this scene used light - prism-like - reflection in a chandelier; the light is reflected in the iris of her eyes) - it was such a beautiful scene (sorry for my google-bad-English translation) there's a lot of close-ups, slow motion (the same kind of use than in Fish Tank), which use the natural light of the sun... it's a movie of sensations, sounds, perceptions, and for instance the sun on young Heathcliff (as on the Blu-Ray UK) you can feel like him the warmth of the sun. check the captures here : (the same captures can be find on dvdbeaver if you want to see more from the Artificial Eye Blu-Ray) : Wuthering Heights - Artificial Eye (UK - I have to check if this is region B locked (according to blu-ray.com it is "locked") https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Wuthe.../32864/#Review as reviewed by Dr. Svet Atanasov last year (April 2012) https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Wuthe...4/#Screenshots If someone has both edition it would be great to have his advice about how different the colors are between the 2 editions. I'm not a particular fan of Artificial Eye. I'm just trying to find the most accurate version of this blu-ray to what I've seen later in theatres. I really like Oscilloscope work (their digipack are great); some photos of the digipack of Wuthering Heights have been posted here : (scroll down) : http://blog.criterioncast.com/tagged/packaging/ I bought "Meek's Cutoff" and the Blu-Ray (again a 1:37 ratio) seems just perfect to me; pictures and colors were what I've seen in theatres. Perhaps there's some mention in the booklet of the Blu-Ray Oscilloscope about the transfer (perhaps Andrea Arnold or Robbie Ryan wanted to make some changes ?) ![]() there's for instance already an important technical difference with the Artificial Eye release : indeed, in this review we read that the picture is slightly windowboxed to avoid overscan (as you can see on the screentshots) (the A.E isn't cropped and isn't windowboxed. "Meek's Cutoff" (Oscilloscope) wasn't windowboxed (and is in 1:37), same "Fish Tank" (A.E or Criterion) I don't have some overscans problems since TV tubes are gone...
