Thumbs up Saw IV and 30 Days of Night

Have you all seen these movies, I just saw both this weekend and they are great! They are going to look good on Blu-ray, especially Saw IV b/c i heard they had to eliminate some things from the movie to get it to the "R" rating. Amen to Directors Cuts!

Thumbs down

I saw Saw 4 and thought it sucked. It was all about gore and guts and the story just plain sucked. Its like they are trying to milk the series for as long as they can instead of making a movie that rightfully ends the series. Saw 4 seemed like an after thought to me. where as 1-3 were more seamless and followed a progressive story.

I didn't think so, It is telling the story of how jigsaw came about and how he is going to continue his games. (w/o making any spoilers) I thought it was great!

Yes, this was more involving and inter-weaving than the previous three films in the series. This one required you pay attention to everything in order to grasp the chronology of Jigsaw's evolution from an easy going, likeable engineer, to that which he became and ALL the others in the series, from the onset of Saw I. Having now seen all four, this fourth installment in the series helped make sense of all the other three. I for one thought it was excellent. Gory, Yes!, but with logic all along the way and justification for every trap or test! [Jim]

Well, yeah...pretty much. This franchise is cheap, and reliably profitable. It ain't giong anywhere when part 4 opens at 32 million.

F**K the director's cut. Just give me the unrated version! Part IV was awesome. Definitely gonna be a part V. I hope this movie series never ends! Long live Jigsaw...i mean...whoops!

P.S. I've hidden a key somewhere...

30 Days of Night was quite good. Of course I saw it at The Alamo Drafthouse in Austin and had 2 pitchers of New Castle so maybe I'm just remembering the beer.
