United Kingdom House of Cards: The Complete First Season (Netflix) - June 10, 2013

Pre-Order @ amazon.co.uk

Quote:
Ruthless and cunning, Congressman Francis Underwood and his wife Claire stop at nothing to conquer everything. This wicked political drama penetrates the shadowy world of greed, sex, and corruption in modern D.C. Kate Mara and Corey Stoll costar in the first original series from David Fincher and Beau Willimon.

For me, too. Have been excited for this ever since they announced it. Glad it is coming to Blu-ray so soon here in Europe.

I know, I assumed Netflix would have the rights for ages and we wouldn't be getting a release until much later in the year.

I was impressed by the show. Spacey had HUGE boots to fill with Ian Richardson's spectre looming large but the show holds up well when comared to the classic mini-series.

Tis a Netflix production, though I expected they'd have given themselves a longer exclusivity window. Glad they're releasing it, though. Bodes well for the other Netflix productions ( quite looking forward to Hemlock Grove ).

Maybe it doesn't bode so well.

I wonder how well it initial release was picked up on Netflix... does anybody have the figures?

It could be that things have trailed off so quickly, they figure... best get it out on disk.

Is this a digipak inside the sleeve rather than a plastic case ? That's what it looked like with the ones in HMV.

Any supplements on the UK set? Did the ones approved by the BBFC actually end up on the set? The US got none.

Unless more were submitted, Sony would be breaking the law by adding them without a certificate...

Yep, but it's entirely possible that they didn't include the ones they submitted, and that the UK set has nothing, just like the US set. That was the reason for the question, as I'm considering buying the US set.
