I'll definitely check it out. Sofia Coppola has a fan for life in me for both Lost in Translation and The Virgin Suicides. The former being my absolute favorite movie.

Sofia Coppola is, in my opinion, the second best director working today. After Joe Wright. Hopefully this movie continues her streak and makes her 5 for 5.

I've been really interested in this ever since I had read the article it was based on and, well, since I'm a Sofia Coppola fan as well. The teaser was nothing special, though.

Let's see how this new distributor handles itself!

Well, she already used Sleigh Bells' "Crown On the Ground". I did a mini analysis of it and decided that the reason she chose it because of the message behind it, accompanied by heavily distorted synth rock/pop track (Sleigh Bells is a Noise Rock band, so it's intentional). It represents the characters in The Bling Ring perfectly because they party and live a (wannabe) glamorous life of excess to the point where they wear it out so much, that they become the opposite of what they wanted to be in the beginning.

I agree with your statement about Sofia's music choice. In an interview she did for Somewhere, she said she always listens to music while writing screenplays, and that she ultimately tries to include that music in the film.

Her first three films had amazing soundtracks and scores (Marie Antoinette had the best in my opinion). Her most recent was ok, but not the usual Sofia Coppola stuff. But she did say she wanted to make Somewhere a very minimal film.
