Default NBC's "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon" Discussion

Various news media outlets are reporting that Fallon will succeed Jay Leno as host of the show next year in 2014.

Now, I know there are tons of Coco fans out there, but let me explain something to you: Leno was forced out initially thus the whole fall out with Conan because NBC wanted to have their cake and eat it too (keep both guys around) so Conan got fu**ed over with Leno being labelled the bad guy since even though it was all the network's doing.

And look history is about to repeat itself:

Quote:
But sources say that NBC wants to target younger viewers
So Leno is getting fu**ed over again despite still being one of the network's best draws. NBC continues to amaze me.

By the way, I think Jimmy Fallon sucks and is probably the worst guy to take over the show. I think Conan O'Brien is overrated, but its a shame he had to go through all that drama with executive's politics only for Fallon to get a smooth transaction almost 4 years later.

Leno is alright, but Jimmy Fallon is my favorite.

Hopefully they bring over the same crew from LNWJF and The Roots.

Fallon would be tolerable if he didn't constantly start laughing mid joke.

I've always liked Leno for some reason and Fallon is getting better the more I watch him.

Kind of agree that Conan is overrated; I used to really like him at first but now, he's just ok. Its been annoying me lately how he starts every show with a joke about the audience exaggerating their clapping but, his clueless gamer reviews are always fun to watch.

NBC plans to move The Tonight Show to NYC when this change happens.

That's part of his charm though. Some hate that, some love it. I think Fallon started off awful for the first year and now he's my favorite. I just hope the one hour move doesn't make him "safer" like it did Conan.

I refused to watch LEno ever again after what happened to Conan. Not a big deal for me cause he isnt that great but he is still better than that talentless, boring, obedient, Fallen who I will continue to refuse to watch. I also cant stand Letterman.
I only ever watch Daily Show, Colbert and Conan and that is all one needs. I got respect for Kimmel and even a tad for Ferguson but Fallon is a disgrace and it is horrifying to hink he will have the responsibility of leading the Tonite Show. Already an insult to the Legacy of the Tonight SHow and the ratings will show it.

Never liked the early years of Conan O'Brien's Late Night show although he has improved over time. Doubt I'll bother watching Fallon.

Leno would catch my attention in my early twenties. Now IF I watch a night show it will Conan (love how he says it imitating Regis) but up till his monologue. His clueless gamer reviews are awesome too.

Leno has always been my favorite, and I will miss him. I've never really found Fallon to be very funny.

Jimmy Fallon is about as funny as a root canal, I'd rather see The Unknown Comic or Guido Sarducci than that clown. I really couldn't care less though, 11pm until I hit the sack is computer time anyway.

I agree I have always liked Leno and am old enough to remember Carson!

If I was going to rank them I go...

Leno
Ferguson
Kimmel
Letterman
Fallon
Conan

I don't know if Leno would be up to going to another network but I think FOX could make a move if they are serious about late night and scoop him up!

The set looks terrible and the studio is microscopically small.

Conan's Tonight Show set looked waaaay better and so did Leno's.

Too much wood or formed cardboard, whatever it is.(Those buildings look cool though).

I love the change because it looks totally different from everyone else in recent history. If anything it's a throwback (minus the tiny buildings)

I'm happy for the guy though. Just like Conan he's a genuinely nice guy. All of the media reviews have been amazing so that's good to see. The only knock so far is from the LA Times who said he was too humble. lol.

It's identical layout and size (perhaps smaller) to the Late Night set. It's also ugly.

I felt claustrophobic just watching it. I mean it just different. Maybe the studios are just smaller up there instead of LA.
