Default So who's going to see Jurassic Park 3D this weekend?

I was...until I started reading the reviews.

Everything I've read says the 3D conversion is poorly done and doesn't add much, if anything, to the movie.

So I will skip seeing it in theaters and instead enjoy my Ultimate Trilogy on Blu-ray.

I'll check it out. Why not? I've heard mostly good things about the conversion, myself.
Here it's playing in 2D as well, presumably the new remaster, so even if you're not interested in 3D you'd probably be seeing a better presentation of the film than on the bluray.

It's nice they're giving you the option of seeing it in 2D or 3D.

Nope. A lot of new movies coming out that are higher on my list. If Spielberg (or any other rich person) was willing to adopt a poor 40+ year-old movie enthusiast, then I'd get to see more movies like this in the theater rather than having to prioritze.

hell to the no!!!
Re-watched Jurassic Park on Blu a few nights ago but it fills me with an extreme amount of disgust to see them charging $15 for tickets to see a 20 year old movie. Screw that. Also we dont support 3D in this household even if it is one of my favorite films and one my my earliest movie going memories was JP

Definitely!

Doesn't matter if the 3D is good or not, I saw it at the perfect age to be infatuated with it forever and I can see no wrong in it

I just want the trilogy separate releases for a better price than $17. Hopefully during U&S.

Meeeeeee!

Gonna see it in IMAX 3D, then I'm gonna get the 3D blu-ray on the 23rd. Never saw it in theaters, so I'm really looking forward to it.

+1

Seeing Jurassic Park in the cinema at age 8 was probably the most perfect movie-going memory I have, perhaps matched only by the first Matrix film (I went in to watch that with absolutely no knowledge of what it was about, nor having seen any images/trailers/ads). As you might have guessed, I was a hardcore dinosaur fan back then.

So pumped to see this because I never got the chance to catch it in it's original run in theaters.

I've heard the 3D is exceptional and it's one of my favorite films of all time, my personal favorite spielberg film.

I highly suggest that anyone on the fence with this one to see it, just for the sound. I personally don't have a theater quality sound system, so seeing this on the "Ultrascreen" in my area will be such an exciting event; just because of the sound and the new remaster.

This is one the best mixed and edited films in the audio department ever, you owe yourself to see this film on the screen it was meant for!!

Just my two cents, I might see it twice this weekend lol!!

This couldn't go in the 'Jurassic Park 3D' thread because...?

But yes, I'm going to try to. Mainly because I never saw the original in theaters.

I personally don't have access to an IMAX screening, but if I were you; I would definitely see it in IMAX. I am seeing in the biggest screen possible, which for me is the Marcus "UltraScreen"

IMAX would be insane, the T-Rex roar would probably bleed my ear drums.

This one is tough. I already own the trilogy and for the same price as I could go see it in theaters, I could buy it n 3-D when released and watch it in my home over and over. I'm already planning on buying it so its just an extra $15 to see it with a bunch of strangers who (hopefully have already seen it so no crowd reactions)

Going next Sunday to see it in IMAX

Can't wait! It was the first VHS I purchased as a kid. I was 12. Man I can't wait to relive my childhood in IMAX for my 32 bday!

Does anyone know where I could see this in IMAX in the dc metro area?
